“A little disappointed”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights on January 27th and 28th for our anniversary. We chose this hotel because it is a little out of the way from the "hustle and bustle" of the tourist spots. We were hoping to have a nice, quiet romantic vacation. Regrettably, we had anything but. First, if you stay at this hotel do not allow them to put you in a room by the elevator. Our room was right by the elevator and it was extremely loud. I am wondering if part of the problem is a result of there being a gap between the door and the door frame.
On our first night we were awakened at midnight by a loud basketball team. The guys were yelling and carrying on in the hallways. The second night our neighbors fought the ENTIRE night. We called security and they came up but didn't seem to do much of anything, because, Lisa and Justin (yes, we even heard their names that is how loud they were!) continued to fight all night long. Needless to say, we were up the entire night! Instead of the Marriott coming down of individuals with small children (per a previous post I saw), I would recommend that they pay more attention to the adults making noise. After all, adults should know better.
I will say that the staff in the hotel were all very nice and professional. Although I feel that they could have offered us more than a complimentary breakfast for all the trouble we had with the noise. The rooms were very nice and the beds were comfortable. I may consider staying here again, if I am not by the elevator and the hotel makes a better attempt to keep the noise from drunk loud guests at bay. I would have given this hotel 5 stars if it wasn't for the noise factor.

Room Tip: "Do not get a room by the elevator."

“Great Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My husband and I were staying here because of husband's work. I got to go along and have a little vacation time. The staff here was GREAT! It started from the minute we walked in. They upgraded us to a fabulous room. They were helpful with our wi-fi problem. The shuttle driver was great. He was informative and truly a nice fellow. I took a tumble at the bottom of Pike's Peak and the front desk helped patch me up. We had a king room with a sitting area. It was clean and very pretty. I'm very picky about bathrooms and had no problems with this one. The pool area was average but clean.

“Not your typical Marriott...Check out the views!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011 via mobile

The Marriott Colorado Springs offers a little bit more than your normal cookie cutter Marriott property. While the rooms are clean and standard for a Marriott the views are not. Great mountin views if you are lucky enough to get on the right side of the building.

The lobby is big with a a very nice searing and bar area. Again great views during the day.

Also the hotel has really great Free Wi Fi ...very fast.

I would definatley recommend this Marriott property if staying in Colorado Springs.

“Best in the Springs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

My wife and I have stayed in this Marriott several times and we've put family up here in the past. Although the hotel is a bit out of the way, it's a great place to stay. It is located just off the main highway in C. Springs, so it doesn't take long to get to where you are going. The hotel is always clean, the staff friendly and the rooms are great. We've stayed in a jr. suite and a regular king and both were excellent. I will say we had dinner in the restaurant on one occasian and the service was a bit slow, but we weren't in a hurry, so it didn't matter too much. They have an indoor and an outdoor pool, and the bar area is nice and spacious. Convenient place for groups to gather.
We've had nothing but impeccable service each time we've stayed. Thanks Marriott staff.

Room Tip: Stay away from the first floor balcony rooms, you can hear what's going on in the lobby.
