My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights on January 27th and 28th for our anniversary. We chose this hotel because it is a little out of the way from the "hustle and bustle" of the tourist spots. We were hoping to have a nice, quiet romantic vacation. Regrettably, we had anything but. First, if you stay at this hotel do not allow them to put you in a room by the elevator. Our room was right by the elevator and it was extremely loud. I am wondering if part of the problem is a result of there being a gap between the door and the door frame.
On our first night we were awakened at midnight by a loud basketball team. The guys were yelling and carrying on in the hallways. The second night our neighbors fought the ENTIRE night. We called security and they came up but didn't seem to do much of anything, because, Lisa and Justin (yes, we even heard their names that is how loud they were!) continued to fight all night long. Needless to say, we were up the entire night! Instead of the Marriott coming down of individuals with small children (per a previous post I saw), I would recommend that they pay more attention to the adults making noise. After all, adults should know better.
I will say that the staff in the hotel were all very nice and professional. Although I feel that they could have offered us more than a complimentary breakfast for all the trouble we had with the noise. The rooms were very nice and the beds were comfortable. I may consider staying here again, if I am not by the elevator and the hotel makes a better attempt to keep the noise from drunk loud guests at bay. I would have given this hotel 5 stars if it wasn't for the noise factor.
