We had just had a terrible experience just across the street. But TravelStar Inn was clean, quiet and comfortable. The beds, floors, bathroom were immaculate. The place was quiet and we enjoyed our stay.

The owners of this property have a universe to learn about customer service.

First, they leash their loud, barking, scary dogs on the rocks next to the pool. Any guest walking in the parking lot is subjected to constant woofs and growls.

More distressing is the way the woman who runs the place accused me of stealing from the continental breakfast. When in Colorado Springs, my employer rents us rooms a couple of times a week and in the past months I'd guess I've stayed at this flea bag about a dozen times. Last week I had just checked out, and since I was running late, I grabbed a banana and a muffin 'to-go'. As I was walking next door to meet my boss, the owner's wife ra outside and started screaming at me asking if I was her guest and I shouldn't be taking the food! WTF! I had just handed my card key to her husband. I guess she felt that screaming about a 10 cent banana and a fifty-cent muffin was worth losing several hundred dollars a week in revenue. I've asked my boss if we could stay somewhere else. What a dump!

We were not given a no smoking room as requested, the first room they tried to put us in had guests below that were blaring their music, the rooms were dirty the towels were either stained or not fresh the bathroom was dirty, and it is in a bad part of town. If I hadn't already made a reservation and prepaid I would have asked for a refund and found another hotel.

Nice place to stay. Clean rooms with microwave -fridge coffee maker.
