This place advertises as a bed and breakfast, but definintely isn't. You do get breakfast, however it is marginal at best, and you could get the same thing in a regular hotel. The breakfast is basically a continental, as an extra she made an egg dish one day and pancakes the next. The atmosphere is not cozy at all, you feel like you are in a hotel. To get in you have to ring a doorbell, which was strange to me. The "innkeeper" was nice, but seemed fake. We felt like we were an inconvenience, did not feel very welcome. My husband was using the butter on the table at breakfast to butter his toast, and the owner took it it while he was in the middle of using it! We felt like she was rushing us out. Also, they advertise as though you are out in the middle of mountains - you're not. The balcony off of the room is about 4x4. It does have a nice view of the mountains, but you are right off of the main street. Overall, this was the strangest place we have ever stayed. The place is clean, but really weird. You would do better to stay at a regular motel. Save your money for something better!

Wow, I know you can’t please everyone, but we are sorry to see that the above guest did not enjoy their stay. We would like to address several of the points made. We do serve much more than just a continental breakfast with a wide selection of items including a hot entrée which varies daily. We are not sure what she means by we are like a hotel in atmosphere… our common area has comfortable sofas, a fireplace, and wall to wall windows looking out to the mountains. Our guest rooms are all themed after different Colorado mountain passes. We often get comments from guests about how wonderful the atmosphere is. We keep the front door locked, as do many bed and breakfasts that we have been to, for a variety of reasons. We try to make all our guests feel welcome, and her comment about she felt like we were rushing her out, I can’t imagine what could have happened to make her feel that way, because we never ‘rush people out’. If we took the butter while her husband was using it, it could have only been that we noticed it was out and we were going to refill it for him! We do not advertise that ‘we are in the middle of the mountains’ as she said. We are actually very close to town, but yet nestled in the trees. The main street is close, but we have no noise from it and you can’t even see it. There is, in fact, a two acre undeveloped, treed lot buffering us from it. If we were so strange and weird we wouldn’t have the large number of return guests that we get year after year, many who have become friends. Only this morning, as guests were checking out they said how much they enjoyed their visit with us and they can’t wait to return.
