“Allaire Timbers is an amazing place to stay”

Sue and Kendra were wonderful. We only had one night here, which was a real pity and unfortunately missed the wonderful breakfast, but they were friendly, efficient and more than helpful. We stayed in the Halfmoon and loved the decor of the room, in fact the whole Inn was just gorgeous. They even have a hot tub outside in which to soak your worries away whilst watching the beautiful stars overhead, it really doesn't get any better! Well worth every penny!

“Wouldn't stay again :(”

This place advertises as a bed and breakfast, but definintely isn't. You do get breakfast, however it is marginal at best, and you could get the same thing in a regular hotel. The breakfast is basically a continental, as an extra she made an egg dish one day and pancakes the next. The atmosphere is not cozy at all, you feel like you are in a hotel. To get in you have to ring a doorbell, which was strange to me. The "innkeeper" was nice, but seemed fake. We felt like we were an inconvenience, did not feel very welcome. My husband was using the butter on the table at breakfast to butter his toast, and the owner took it it while he was in the middle of using it! We felt like she was rushing us out. Also, they advertise as though you are out in the middle of mountains - you're not. The balcony off of the room is about 4x4. It does have a nice view of the mountains, but you are right off of the main street. Overall, this was the strangest place we have ever stayed. The place is clean, but really weird. You would do better to stay at a regular motel. Save your money for something better!

Wow, I know you can’t please everyone, but we are sorry to see that the above guest did not enjoy their stay. We would like to address several of the points made. We do serve much more than just a continental breakfast with a wide selection of items including a hot entrée which varies daily. We are not sure what she means by we are like a hotel in atmosphere… our common area has comfortable sofas, a fireplace, and wall to wall windows looking out to the mountains. Our guest rooms are all themed after different Colorado mountain passes. We often get comments from guests about how wonderful the atmosphere is. We keep the front door locked, as do many bed and breakfasts that we have been to, for a variety of reasons. We try to make all our guests feel welcome, and her comment about she felt like we were rushing her out, I can’t imagine what could have happened to make her feel that way, because we never ‘rush people out’. If we took the butter while her husband was using it, it could have only been that we noticed it was out and we were going to refill it for him! We do not advertise that ‘we are in the middle of the mountains’ as she said. We are actually very close to town, but yet nestled in the trees. The main street is close, but we have no noise from it and you can’t even see it. There is, in fact, a two acre undeveloped, treed lot buffering us from it. If we were so strange and weird we wouldn’t have the large number of return guests that we get year after year, many who have become friends. Only this morning, as guests were checking out they said how much they enjoyed their visit with us and they can’t wait to return.

“Good but not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2010

The Good:
Great breakfast (two days in a row!). Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Enchiladas.
Wonderful common room with fireplace, view of the mountains, etc.
Outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the mountains and town of Breckenridge
Coffee in the common room round the clock.
Exceptionally clean
Great walking trails nearby
Easy parking.

The not so good
Rooms were REALLY small
Mattresses seemed very cheap and uncomfortable -- the kind you can feel the springs through.
Pillows were flat ala Motel 6.
As mentioned in previous reviews -- if you're downstairs you can hear everything from upstairs -- walking almost sounds like stomping.
TV's look like they are from 1985 and are way too small. They put them up on a shelf to the side of the bed which isn't a comfortable viewing angle.

We had a nice time -- just wish the mattresses and pillows were of better quality like most B&B's use these days. They made it feel like a cheap motel which is too bad as the place isn't.

“It was everything we expected from a timber lodge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 March 2010

Sandra and Sue made us feel comfortable from the start. The timber lodge decor overlooking the village and ski slopes of Breckenridge is terrific. The location is close enough to town which makes you feel your in the action but far enough out of town to feel relaxed and secluded. The rooms, food and outdoor tub is terrific. The only things i would suggest to people booking a room is if you dont like the smell of chlorine dont book a room with a hot tub and if you dont like hearing the footseps from the people in the room above ask for a top floor room. Other than that we loved our stay there and would defiantly return .

“A Perfect B&B!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2010

Allaire Timbers Inn is absolutely lovely and the perfect place to stay in Breck if you are looking for quiet, clean, and an amazing value. We couldn't recommend it any more highly. Breakfast is always good and happy hour is a totally unexpected treat! Kendra & Sue have thought of everything that one could want on a visit to Breck - from boot dryers & indoor ski storage to hot cider and fresh cookies.

We stayed in one of the cheaper and more bare-bones rooms (with a mini tv). Though definitely not luxe, the room was still totally charming and cozy. Tucked just behind Peaks 9 & 10 the b&b is easily accessible by free shuttle bus (turns out Breck charges for parking at the base of the mountain!?) and is a two minute drive from all of the shops and restaurants on Main Street. I'm not sure that I'd recommend staying here without a car...
