The location and indoor parking are great, as was the size of a 2 bedroom condo with a lower level for kitchen/dining room/fireplace next to the TV. A private hot tub was the clincher off the master bedroom; soooo much more convenient and nice than the community one outside, in the snow, walking around trying not to freeze after you get out. You could ski down to within 30 feet of the entrance. Nice bar area and a big wood fireplace in the lounge. Front desk staff was helpful, quick and informative. Having said all that....the unit we stayed in NEEDS to be updated; torn comforters, little nicks in the furnishings and toilets, a non-stick skillet from the 80's. No housekeeping is not a problem for me, and you could get more towels if that's what you need. Very convenient for quick walks all over town (5 minutes or less for most places) and there are buses constantly serving town. Free internet is a plus, didn't use the fitness center or outdoor barbecue. Really good value, could be great with some polish.

River Mountain Lodge contains condos as well as hotel rooms. We stayed in unit E-209 of the condos. The unit was a one bedroom loft with 2 full baths, a murphy bed and a pull out sofa all with queen beds. It includes a wood burning fire place, full compact kitchen and patio overlooking the river. This was a mother/daughter ski trip that left all the men and children at home!

We loved the condo! It was well stocked allowing us to comfortably enjoy our short ski trip (3 nights) to Breckenridge. The kitchen contained everything we could have hoped for except cooking spices. Just hit the grocery store and fix your meals at home, we chose to cook breakfast in and carry our lunch to the hill (large lunch box cooler found in the kitchen!) and spend our money on activities and shopping.

After reading some of the negative comments made by earlier visitors we were leary, but found ourselves very pleased with the facility and its location. Yes, the sheets could be a little better quality, but not as bad as some made them sound. The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful with directions, recommendations, towel exchange - just plain friendly. They even store your skis for the night and have them ready to grab and go in the morning. The lobby bar ran nightly specials and like most ski communities was laid back and full of fun personality. There are FOUR hot tubs, 2 outdoor by the pools, 1 indoor and 1 semi-outdoor allowing you to enjoy the brisk winter air without leaving the building (this was our favorite!). They also have a dry sauna and a steam room. The parking garage is private, underground and very handy to elevators. The free bus stops just outside the lobby doors or go out the back door and take the bridge for a short walk to reach Main St. with all its shopping and dining.

This was our first trip to Breckenridge, but certainly won't be our last. The entire area is designed to leave your car in the garage and either walk or take the free bus to anywhere in the area, including other nearby ski resorts.

We heartily recommend the River Mountain Lodge and the town of Breckenridge!!

Thank you to everyone that works there. The room was clean and perfect, it even smelled good. We were treated like we were at the ritz. This is the place to stay. There shuttles take you anywhere you want to go and rush back to pick you up when you are ready. Perfect location for ski trips. I can't say enough about how great the people are who work there. Stay at this hotel and they will take care of you.
