“Lots of room and great views!”

We stayed in a 3bd 3 ba condo after being upgraded for the Grand Lodge timeshare sales presentation. It exceeded our expectations because of the amount of room we had and the views from our deck! The kitchen was big enough for a few people to be in it at the same time and the condo had an open floor plan. The view from the deck was probably the best part and easily could fit 5 chairs out there. Everyone was super friendly and maintenance was eager to fix anything we had problems with. It was clean and had all the amenities you would want from a condo.
I would recommend this to someone that wants to stay out of the hustel and bustle of town but still be 10 minutes away. There is a free shuttle but we never took it since it was only a 10 minute drive. Overall it was wonderful and I would not hesitate going back in the summer or winter.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor

“Mostly fine but we won’t be back until dogs not invited.”

We are staying in a three bedroom condo and the views are fantastic. The resort is close enough to town to be convenient for shopping, dining, and site-seeing.
The big issue with our condo is dogs (at least 2) barking every time someone comes in or goes out; all night long; and running up to you when you go outside to walk around.

I have told the 2 young ladies in their teens that my grandson and I are scared of dogs so to please keep their leashes shorter. It seems every time we go out for a walk, the young folks and their dogs come out.
I am used to not having dogs in the timeshares we have stayed in for the last 15 years, so
I don’t know if that fact that it is dog-friendly is listed in their info. But I will not return here until I read a BIG “NO DOGS ALLOWED” posted on their website or literature.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room where no dogs are booked next door or close by.

Thank you for reviewing Gold Point Resort. Gold Point offers spacious, fully stocked units with incredible views. We are glad you enjoyed the location and the proximity to the town of Breckenridge. The town bus also has a very convenient stop right by the entrance to the resort.
Gold Point Resort is pet friendly for our owners. We apologize that the dogs disturbed you during your stay. We would encourage anyone who has a problem with pets on our property to contact the front desk as soon as possible with your concerns so that they can speak with the owners.
Again thank you for taking the time to review Gold Point Resort!

“Old and out of the way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

You must know this. This time share off shoot (or prequel, more acurately) brought to you by the Grand Timber Lodge folks is far out of town and sits at over 10,600 feet. I live in Colorado, so this was no big deal for me. If you live nearer to sea level, this may not be great for you. It is also about a four mile drive up Boreas Pass, and then up a road off the pass - very steep and not a great drive in the dark, after dinner and a few drinks - at least theoretically. :)

My inlaws booked us over the 4th of July weekend, and I had never heard of the place. They got a good deal. I can see why. Our three bedroom unit was enormous - you certainly cannot complain about the size or space. The ameneties were adequate. The view of the 10 mile range is really very fine. That's about it on the up side.

The furnishings are very early 80's. The hot tub area closed in, hot and unappealing. One tiny garage per unit three big flights of stairs below. The upkeep was marginal - many outlets in the kitchen did not work. Small flat screen TVs (especially in such big rooms). Pretty unresponsive management (we left a phone charger and called - "we can't find it." Come one - how hard is it to just go get it). I know, people complain when the size is too small! But I'm not that big of a complainer - it just didn't strike me as very nice.

There are so many places to stay in Breck. It is the condominium center of the known universe - at least in Colorado. You can certainly do better than this place.

We appreciate you taking the time to write a review of your recent stay at Gold Point Resort. We apologize that you were not entirely pleased with your stay. Gold Point units are great for families and large groups; they are very spacious, have huge, fully-equipped kitchens, and have great deck space. The majority of Gold Point Condominiums were built in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, and our maintenance team has worked diligently to keep the resort up to date so that all of our guests and owners are able to comfortably enjoy their stay. Gold Point is located a few miles from Main Street Breckenridge, at a higher elevation. This affords our guests gorgeous, unbeatable views of the Breckenridge Ski Resort from every unit. If altitude sickness is a concern, we recommend drinking a lot of water on your way up to altitude, and while you are here. Also, it is a good idea to have ibuprofen or Tylenol on hand in case of headaches.

We do apologize that you felt your request for your phone charger to be located was met with a less than enthusiastic response. Our employees are trained extensively to make every contact with our guests positive. It is our primary commitment to treat others with respect and proper etiquette, which requires us to go out of our way to accommodate all of our guest’s requests. It is also unfortunate that you found some outlets in the kitchen to be out-of-order. We would encourage you to contact our maintenance department in that event, and they would be more than happy to assess the situation and make necessary repairs quickly.

Again, thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback.

“Best view we have ever had at a timeshare resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

The view from our deck was absolutely breathtakingly spectacular. I have stayed at 23 timeshare resorts throughout the US and in Norway, and this was by far our best view ever. We also loved the layout of our unit---we traded into Gold Point through Interval International, and we were lucky to have gotten a 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom unit. The kitchen was unbelievable---I have never seen so many cabinets in my life. We could easily have had a nice soiree watching the sunset; however, I don't think our friends and family back in the Boston area would have been able to make the drive. Anyway, there were five of us in our unit, and we had plenty of space and TVs (four of them!) It's true the resort doesn't have any activities; however, it is so easy to take the free shuttle bus which runs hourly down to the town of Breckenridge. There are lots of good and not too terribly expensive restaurants in the town--we especially liked Breckenridge Brewery and the French bakery. We also took advantage of the free passes which Gold Point provided us to go to Breckenridge Recreation Center, and we were so impressed with its facilities. Four of us in our group went mountain climbing up Mount Baldy, as well as a six mile hike to see Mayflower Lake (we unfortunately didn't have the time to make it to see Continental Falls and Mohawk Lake). All five of us went rafting on the Blue River with Kodi Rafting, and that was also an unbelievable experience for four of us white water rafting rookies. I also want to point out the people working at the resort are so nice and welcoming. All in all, we found this to be a great place to spend a week. We hope to get back to Breckenridge in the next couple years.

We appreciate you taking the time to write a review of your recent stay at Gold Point Resort! It is wonderful to hear that you had excellent service, as that is one of the core hospitality standards that Breckenridge Grand Vacations staff is committed to. Gold Point units are great for families and large groups; they are very spacious, have huge, fully-equipped kitchens, and have great deck space. It sounds like you fully took advantage of all the wonderful outdoor activities (and the Breck Rec Center!) that Breckenridge and the surrounding areas have to offer. July is truly a great time to be in Summit County! Thanks again for writing a review and we hope to see you again in Breckenridge soon.

“You Can't Go Wrong With Views Like This”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

We were a little skeptical due to some of the reviews. I value the input from Trip Advisor. However, this place was outstanding. Let me start with the first point: A Garage. We rode our Goldwing to Breckenridge and pulled a trailer behind it. We could put it all in the garage and know it was safe. Yes, the furniture is a little older, but it was comfortable. The wives said the kitchen was actually outfitted better than any other place we have been. It had a great gas fireplace. Sure it was June, but at night it would get down in the 30's, we would like the fireplace, open the door to the balcony and enjoy. It was so nice having an entire wall (dining room and living room) of windows that over looked the mountains. At night we would leave the bedroom window open about 3 inches and with the heavy and comfortable blankets, sleep like a baby. My only complaint was that it was a queen bed and I prefer king. But the view more than made up for that. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was a snap. For the summer, driving up and down the mountain to Breckenridge was no problem and was beautiful. I wonder how it is in the snow covered winter. We left Gold Point and spent the next week in Winter Park and it was so hard to leave. I wished we had taken another week here.
