“not as advertised”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

We have rented many condos and are aware of the variability. i requested an upper floor unit with a balcony and view. We did have to climb up some rickety stairs - but since the building was on a slanted lot, our window was a first floor. The view was of the garbage bins, and the balcony was 2X3 feet. Hot water was inconsistent. And the queen size bed turned out to be a double. The unit was clean but clearly needing an update.

“Check out bed size before renting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

Though the unit was clean, we were not told we would have a full size bed, which was too
small for comfort. We travel frequently, and haven't come across a full bed in many years. If we had been informed, we would not have taken the unit. Pull out sofa was not adequate for sleeping either. Requested to be moved, but nothing was available. The hot tubs were not operational. No activities, things to do at condo.

Room Tip: Find out what size bed is in unit, so there are no surprises

“Wonderful Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2011

Two Couples; we stayed in a Two-Bedroom/Two-Bathroom Unit. Overall, a fantastic condo in a great location.
The unit itself was nicely furnished, had a wood-burning fireplace, a looooong island in the kitchen, plenty of dinnerware and silverware, almost all the necessary cooking equipment (no colander??), a nice big fridge to store food/beverages, good-sized closets in the bedrooms, along with dressers to store clothing, and even a little patio. Our unit even had a washer/dryer, which was very nice.
Not sure if Internet is available in all units, but our unit did have Wireless Internet available. We were provided with the password when we received our keys.
Being on the third floor was nice, but WOW we were not used to so many stairs! They were a bit steep and we never really did get used to them!
My only complaint...the 2nd bathroom had a stand-up shower that was about the size of my hall closet. It was very difficult to take a shower in there.
There was even a little room in the complex that had a Sauna and two smaller hot tubs. Both hot tubs were located indoors, and both temperatures were at a SCALDING HOT 105 degrees. Too hot to fully enjoy them.
Our unit location in the complex was perfect... just down the stairs, and walk right to the road to pick up the bus. One bus to take you all the way down to Main St. Walk to the other side of the road and catch the bus to take you up to Peak 7 or 8. PERFECT. We even found one particular bus driver very friendly, chatty and helpful, dropped us off right next to where we wanted to go on Main St. Explained the bus system and route times to us, as well.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay at these condos again.

“Clean, roomy, and Close to lift”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2011

My friends and I stayed at Gold Camp because it sounded close to the lifts and was available for a great price. The condo was very clean. We only had a couple minor issues, such as thinking the 1.5 bathrooms would mean one full bathroom and a single toilet elsewhere in the condo. Unfortunately, the other 0.5 was only an extra sink in the hallway. The walk to peak 8 lift took no more than 8 minutes and the free shuttle picks up at the curb of GC and peak 8 (although they never ran true to posted schedule times). This was a great experience and I plan on returning to GC for future ski trips.

“1st time gold camp 2nd time breck”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2009

Having made my paid in advance reservation for Gold Camp sight unseen (except for the standard photos on the web), and having only a couple reviews to go on (1 good, 1 bad) I wasn't sure what to expect. so with dumb blind faith I dragged my wife, son, his girlfriend, and even invited a friend who just recently moved to Denver to our Gold Camp condo. Much to my surprise and delight it was jst as advertised. There was a gas fireplace in our unit. It did have a full kitchen (from now on I wil alwas pack my own cutlery). It was just a short walk tto the bus to peak 8. the only thing shorter then the walk to the bus was the bus ride to the lifts on peak 8. The condo was large enough for 3 young adults plus my wife and me. Yes the condo was a ways up the mountain, but that was just what we wanted. Besides since we drove a rental from Denver Airport it only took about 5 mintes to drive to town. And we had no problem finding a parking space. All in All I was very satisfied and everyone had a great time. Oh yeah the bad review I read, no our unit didn't have any internet access. but hey I didn't seem to mind. I was ther to ski.
