“Grand Excellence”

Our first visit to Breckenridge was in 2005 where we fortunately made a reservation at Grand Timber Lodge. Not only did we have a great experience but also fell in love with the town. We purchased property at Grand Timber shortly after and have been coming back every year since - and every year we have had a fantastic vacation experience. We would like to thank everyone at GTL for going above and beyond on such a consistent basis and exceeding our expectations every year. Keep up the great work! We highly recommend staying at GTL and if you have the opportunity, purchasing here as well.

Room Tip: GTL is kind of of ski-in, ski-out. It's a very short walk and then a short ski to the lift. Mayb...

“Grand Timber Lodge, November, 2011”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Stayed at Grand Timber Lodge just before official opening of ski season at Breckenridge. Town fairly quiet since off-season. Some stores and restaurants closed as they prepared for opening of ski season (late November.) Rented a ground floor two-bedroom corner condo. Beautiful. Lovely view of forest outside all windows. Especially pretty when a bit of snow began to fall and blanket the trees. Could see a few nearby condos/townhouses, but they did not block the view. Two foxes visited the area around the condo patios morning and evening... nice treat to watch them. Great place for a week or weekend if looking for a quiet place to relax before the ski crowds. Our last Saturday was opening day on the slopes. Took the free gondola from town of Breckenridge up to the base of Peak 7 (I think.) Didn't ski, but day was sunny and was fun to sit on patio with food and a beer and people watch. Will definitely be spending more time at Grand Timber!

Room Tip: West side lodges are best for view since they abut the forest. Some have ski in/out rooms I think.

“Very good value. Spacious rooms. Quiet. Many resort amenities.”

We stayed at The Grand Timber Lodge at the end of November 2011 and found it an excellent value. The rooms are very spacious and tastefully done in a cabin/mountain style. It also seems the rooms are being updated/remodeled with new and nice furniture, carpet, and TVs. The bed was extremely comfortable (the quality of a high-end Hilton or Hyatt), and the underground heated parking was fantastic. The resort has a ton of amenities and the food at The Lodgepole Bar & Grill is quite good as well as reasonably priced (I think a pint-sized draft beer was $4). Plus, the rooms were very quiet; we never heard the elevators or people walking/talking in the hallway.

The only drawback is the pressure when checking in to do a timeshare presentation for their new resort a few miles away (we did the presentation that was supposed to be 90 minutes but it ended up a bit over 3 hours...I'd say no to the presentation in the future).

We will definitely return.

Thank you for reviewing Grand Timber Lodge. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We strive to make all guests feel as at home as possible by providing spacious, fully-stocked units, unmatched amenities, a restaurant on property as well as a free shuttle to downtown. The Lodgepole Bar and Grill is conveniently located in Building 6, right next to the larger of the two pool areas. The affordable lunch and dinner menu offers an excellent selection of appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, pizza, entrees, and dessert!
We do offer a gift to qualified guests who choose to participate in a 120 minute presentation about the benefits of vacation ownership at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7. While this opportunity is of interest to many of our guests, we realize that it is not for everyone. We do apologize that your presentation ran long. We appreciate you taking the time to preview the Grand Lodge on Peak 7.
We look forward to your next stay!

“Had a good ski week at the Timber!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Did a time share exchange for a studio lock off room, it was small but we managed, and the many amenities at the resort made up for it. Received a call from the resort the week prior to our arrival (also a conformation in the mail several weeks before), asking if we had any questions or concerns. Asked if we arrived before check in time if we could park our vehicle there and ski? They said by all means, they would get us per-registered, let us park in the heated UG parking, could use all the facilities and locker rooms, and call my cell when the room was ready, which they did when we arrived and were able to get an extra day of skiing in! They do charge for WiFi in the room, and have a free WiFi access by the main desk, it was less than fast. They also have several free PC's next to the reception area. Every member of the staff was great from check in, maintenance, to shuttle bus drivers! The pool and hot tubs were great. Had 4 outside Natural Gas Grills that 2 of the buildings shared, each had there own individual decorative lamps, and picnic tables under a small pavilion. The studio was cramped, and the kitchen in it was one of the disappointments. It only had a dorm size fridge, 2 burner electric stove, dorm size microwave, and a single sink, and a dishwasher. I understand the other 1 and 2 bedroom units have full size kitchens and dinning tables. The ski out / in is okay depending on which unit you are staying at, and took us a couple tries to find the right ski in trail, let me save you some time and hassle, just take the free shuttle, they are great and so are the drivers!

Thank you for reviewing Grand Timber Lodge! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. The studio is our smallest unit and does only have a kitchenette. We do have one, two, and three bedroom options that all have a full kitchen, a larger living area, a fireplace and a balcony. Grand Timber Lodge is in a fabulous location with unmatched amenities. We apologize that the internet was slow for your needs. We strive to provide outstanding customer service at every opportunity. We are pleased to hear we met this goal during your stay. “Really nice stay!”

We just got back from Breckenridge and a week at the Grand Timber Lodge. We really liked it there and would definitely go back. It is a ski in-ski out lodge/timeshare. You may be hit on to sit through a presentation, but you get $100.00. It was beautifully layed out, but would suggest buildings 5 or 6..just because of their location to the slopes. We had a studio and it was a bit cramped, but we expected this, so wasn't disappointed. We were impressed with the staff and the restaurant (service could have been faster).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view in bldgs. 5 or 6 if in the winter. Laundrys are coin op and on the second...
