I recently stayed here for four nights as part of a conference. I was very nervous prior to arrival, having read many of the negative reviews. I came to realize that many poor reviews were from people who stayed in the apparently infamous "west wing", which was closed when I was there.
I was in the main building on the top (fifth) floor, facing the mountains (though not a direct view). It would be pretty windy at night and for some reason the ceiling vent in my bathroom made sounds throughout the night that seemed to correspond to the wind outside. It was better when I made sure to keep the bathroom door closed.
The bed was fine, the water hot, the front desk friendly enough. I was able to walk to many restaurants and stores. Oh, and unlike many other reviews my internet was free, since I was in a 'deluxe' room or something like that.
For the most part the place seemed fine, nothing out of the ordinary in either direction....until the night of our large group dinner when the word quickly spread across the room: "don't eat the butter." I watched people sniffing their butter pats, first with curiosity and then with disgust. The butter was rancid. The wait staff hurriedly scooped up most of the plates of butter (but not all) and apologetically distributed cold little individually wrapped butter rectangles.
So, it was a decent stay, except for the rancid butter. You have been warned.
