I wish i would have found the bad reviews before i went to stay at the Alps. The bad reviews are dead accurate. The place is very run down and not well cared for. The deserts that were provided were old hard cookies and some coffee, tea or hot chocolate you can make yourself. The crisman room was disappointing to say the least and the "fireplace" smoked terribly. There was only a uninviting shower in the old that had a yucky looking floor. The owner who was very nice was kind enough to offer me the use of a bathtub in another room since it was not busy, which i was grateful for. My son and i enjoyed the cat and the dog that roam the hotel. Breakfast was terrible except for the orange juice. When the owner served it was tolerable, but the second day when another person served she was unfriendly and what i assumed was microwaved quiche was barely warm and the scone served cold. After the breakfast myself and another person were trying to find someone at the front desk to check out. After waiting for several minutes i heard noise coming from a back room, that i assumed was the kitchen because i saw our food coming from that direction. The door was marked private but cracked open so i opened it to call for whomever was in there and was met with a disgustingly dirty sight of what looked like a dusty old garage piled high with junk in every space. Hardly room to walk through, tables and floor piled high with old dirty junk. I was so disturbed and disgusted thinking that my food likely came through that environment much less the possibility that it may have been prepared there. The girl who served our breakfast was in there and came rushing out as soon as i opened the door.
