“It's not high-end but we like it”

If you want plumbing to work perfectly and all windows to close tight and the kitchen floor linoleum to not be pulling up at the edges, etc. then you should probably look elsewhere. But if you want to stay at a cozy place that's clean and friendly despite the wear, this'll work. We in particular love the location next to the Boulder Canyon trail. Very pretty spot, friendly staff, good price, no complaints. Okay, maybe the plumbing could work better but hey, as the staff explained, "we have mountain plumbing." Understood. We'll be here again, hopefully.

“Perfect Honeymoon Experienced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

We had our wedding on Dec. 21st and got to Boulder Mountain Lodge at the beginning of a snow storm. The room was perfect! Service was great! We got snowed in and weren't able to leave the lodge for any of our planned outings, but being our honeymoon this created the most romantic experience. They have a magazine in the room called Restaurant Rollers that had menus of a very wide variety of Boulder's restaurants, with reasonable delivery and hot food every time.

Found this place on an affordable honeymoon website and I 100% recommend the Gold Run Suite to everyone who wants the perfect affordable location for their honeymoon in Colorado.

Room Tip: Gold Run Suite is the perfect honeymoon suite :)

“Not worth the price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

This was lodge #2 in our 5 day trip to Boulder and Im glad to say that it was only a one night stay. I believe there is a difference between rustic and run down and in my opinion this was a bit run down. We had a 2 bedroom with a kitchen but it wasnt exactly what we were looking for. The stove was something you would find in a old motel, and there was hardly any room to move around while cooking. The utensils looked very old and we gladly rewashed them because I wasnt about to eat with something that looked ancient. The bedroom were spacious but heres the major problem...the space heaters are located in the kitchen and living room area and so if you want any heat...you need to keep the doors open! And so there is no privacy. The bathrooms looked run down and like someone else mentioned the carpets looked like they have never been cleaned. Oh and I dont want to even mention the kind of bug we killed because I have never in life seen anything like it. The creek is nice but once again the hiking path leads to nowhere. The front desk staff was very friendly but I will not be comming back here again. I have stayed in rustic places and this is not it!

“Great stay for Geological Field Mapping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

I was lucky enough to be field mapping Boulder, Golden, Morrison as well as the Lake Isabelle areas of Colorado for my dissertation (Summer 1994) - had to click Oct 2010 so please ignore the date.

We stayed here for 2 weeks camping and had a great time. The facilities we used were generally the hot tubs, shop and showers/laundry. The pitches were good and were of a decent size. We met quite few people travelling both camping and with RV's so socially the place was very good.

The scenary is spectacular. We travelled everywhere on foot and the trip into Boulder was very scenic from canyon gorges to large municipal parks to the city (took about 30 mins to an hour to walk from memory).

Originally we planned to stay for the whole duration of our field trip (7 weeks), but local regulations (at the time - may have changed) meant that we could only stay for 2 weeks.

I am planning to return to take my children and wife to see all the great sights I saw - but hoping to exchange canvas for cabins this time.

“Great place for the right mindset”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

Boulder Mountain Lodge is a funky motel about 15 minutes from downtown Boulder. Very convenient to town. Rooms are large enough and include kitchenettes. Our room had no A/C, but by borrowing a fan from the motel, we stayed cool.

The staff was great. Breakfast was satisfying. The setting was great with a creek running by the front door of our room. Nice music to sleep by! Pool and hot tub are right by the creek.

If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place. If you want a "down home" family run motel, and don't mind sacrificing the latest and greatest, give this one a look. We would go back in a heartbeat.
