“For a little fun.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2006

We live in the low desert and have gone here for a quick getaway. We have stayed in several of the rooms, The Roman, Persian, and the Plantation Room (our favorite). Last room was the Jungle room and we wouldn't stay there again because it smelled "musty", the toilet backed up, and the rock shower was nothing to brag about.

Always had a pleasant experience with the staff, and really like PleaseAnn (yes, her name), the masseuse the place uses for massages. Very professional and soothing.

It's not fancy by any means, but the theme rooms are fun.

  • Liked — Lovely gardens and clean pool.
  • Disliked — It's beginning to get shabby
  • Tips/Secrets — Check their website. Sometimes they have specials. Summer is best.

We stayed in yucca Valley in june for one night. The room was nice, the pool site was great. The staff was very friendly and the price was reasonable. Breakfast was ok. I would defintily stay there again.

“the worst”

Alright, if you stay in a standard (typical) room at this dump, like we did, don't expect much...
the flourescent pink color throughout the room was just lovely, as was the disgusting carpet. The bed needed to be replaced as well. I would not stay here again.

“Goofy name, but a very good experience”

This was our second visit here, after staying at the Yucca Valley Super 8 a number of times. It's so much better--much more private & quiet, a way better pool area and a friendly staff. When I called to make a reservation for two nights, management was happy to honor the cheaper internet rate I found online. We got the basic room that had a microwave & fridge. Yes, it's dated & a little kitschy, but somehow it just seems to be part of the charm. We had to bother the front desk a number of times, & no matter who was on duty, they were always pleasant & helpful.

It's not fair to compare it to some of the larger hotels down in Palm Springs, but for a small town & a bargain rate, you can't go wrong.

“Not What You Expect.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2006

We booked the room after looking at the website. The rooms looked much better online than they do in person. For the price of the room nearing $200 I would expect a lot more. The room had a whirlpool tub in it which seemed really cool but the whole room smelled a bit moldy. The lighting was terrible. The room felt very dated and well used by the condition of the bed which looked like a shallow bowl. It was extremely uncomfortable.

We ended up not staying but had a hard time not having to pay full price. To their credit we did pay a cancellation fee but not the whole amount. Make sure you know what you are getting into before booking the place.
