Decently clean rooms, ok price (cheaper at Calico but Calico is kinda dumpy) non smoking, clean sheets....tv worked...good to go! AC heater vent wasnt clogged with lint like some places etc....good upkeep....4 stars!

This hotel states that the rooms are near sound proof, that's a lie! I had a very hard time sleeping with al the noise; trucks on the freeway, doors closing, running water & kids stomping. I wouldn't stay there again if they paid me!!!

I have stayed at the Oak tree Inn a number of times and always use it if I am working in the area which I do on a regular basis. The rooms are always clean and the pool is small but nice to relax in when it is hot. The hotel caters to Railroad employees and truckers but experienced travelers know the place as decent and reasonable. If you are hiking or doing day trips to Calico, Mojave Preserve or Joshua Tree, is a great place to base from. One of the nicest things about the hotel is the diner located next door. Penney’s is a great little diner and the food is always decent with homemade desserts to tempt you. The malts are also very good and it is open 24 hours. You might also have them pack you a lunch for your day in the wilderness as they are great and you have a number of choices.
If I had a criticism, it would be the towels could use fabric softener and the pillows are small, but I travel with my own pillow anyway and the rooms and prices are decent enough to make up for it. It’s a great place with a nice staff that is helpful and friendly. It’s cheaper than some of the higher end places and better than the “bargain” chains on main street.

We got the hotel for 50$. It is better than your typical 2 star hotel. Next door is a 24 hour diner, AND you get a 15$ voucher for the diner when you check in that can be used any time of day. I like to sleep in and always miss any breakfast any hotel may offer, so this was perfect. What makes it better than your typical 2 star hotel is it is by people who are clearly thoughtful: the windows are thick so it is quit, the air conditioning unit does not turn off and on throughout the night in case you are a light sleeper, the door doesn't let in light, the clock has options of alarm noises, and beds are comfortable and clean. They quietly advertise this if you read the materials in the room and it is all true.
