“Pro's and Con's ?”

I like to be fair in my reviews and based on previous reviews on Tripadvisor I picked this motel for a nights stay to get to the Sacramento Intl Airport for an early morning flight with my children. The manager or owner was very polite and efficient. The room however was not what I assumed it might be, basic yes but unsafe no. Recently painted and newer carpet. Freezing cold when we stepped in. It seemed generally clean but devoid. Stains on the one bedspread, flimsy sheets, and some towels that looked like they should have been tossed. Rust in the bathroom sink and a mishmosh of lightbulbs in the vanity lighting. A well needed new shower curtian would have helped. The room telephone was gross, there were food crumbs in the heating/air unit and the vents looked dirty. The unit when turning off make a horrible clunking sound when shutting down and woke everyone up every cycle. The thing that bothered me the most was the lack of safe lighting in the parking lot and stairwell to the second floor. The stairwell was completely dark with no lights at all. One of my children almost fell. No secondary security lock on the door. The nosie from the freeway was minimal. I fail to see some of the reviews that claim this is better than basic. We should have just asked for a refund and moved somewhere else but we were tired and basically needed a few hours of sleep before we had to leave so rather than hassle we stayed in an overpriced 75$ room. I was sorry I did not have a camera.

“A smart choice when traveling through CA”

This little gem is just north of Sacremento in the charming little town of Woodland. Ask for a room facing the courtyard as I-5 is right next to it. We did not hear freeway noise at all from our room. The rooms are clean, the staff was friendly, and it was all for 70 dollars (two queens) a night. We checked in drove about a mile to downtown Woodland and had dinner. Nice place.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the courtyard. If you need to bring in luggage ask for a bottom level away fr...

“A little older but quiet and friendly staff.”

I stayed here with my wife and small child on the way to Eugene, Oregon. We would have never even noticed it but my wife's mother had stayed here in the past and recommended it. The hotel is tucked away near the freeway, and we were concerned that it would be loud but it wasn't.

Anywho, the staff was friendly when we arrived, and helped up decide on a room / price that worked for us, which was around $65 after tax for a room with a queen sized bed. The high speed Internet was free, but it would often disconnect because we were too far from the router. There was free Dish in the room, a mini fridge, and AC / heat that worked great. We were on the bottom floor, so we were able to park right in front of our room, a rarity these days.

You could tell that the Inn was a little bit older due to the furniture in the room, but it was clean and we didn't have a problem with it. There was a sofa, coffee table, "dinner" table and 3 chairs, ample furniture in my opinion.

Still, the room was surprisingly quiet for it's proximity to the freeway, and the bed was firm which I am a fan of. We enjoyed our stay there except for one thing...

There is no slide / top lock for the door, just a deadbolt that you lock manually from inside of the room. The issue with it was if you pulled the handle down it would unlock and open the door, so we had to put furniture in front of the door so our two year old would not open it and walk out. Other than that however, we enjoyed our stay.

The price wasn't the cheapest, but we'd definitely stay there again on account of how quiet it was, that the room was clean and had Dish, and the fact that the staff was nice.

“Old-style motel, good price, Aug 08”

We were driving past at about 10:00 p.m. last night and saw the sign from the highway. It was close to the freeway and the sign said, "$55" which sounded right for the headed-home leg of our road trip. The man behind the desk gave us the AAA rate of about $61.00 and things looked orderly and clean in the lobby so we checked in.

Our room was on the second floor facing into a tidy courtyard/alley. The room smelled pretty good and was warm but cooled off to polar after a while when we turned on the air conditioner. The carpet was newer and clean. The mini fridge was clean and shiny. The TV was okay. There was a seating area with a table and two chairs and an armchair and sofa that were not sticky or scary. The pillows (two on a queen bed) were firm and thick and the sheets and towels were clean.
We slept great and enjoyed the stray kitties and chickens in the back corner of the property in the morning!

We hate hearing noise from neighbors in a motel and didn't hear any this time.

The small outdoor pool and spa looked clean and nice. With more time we would have stuck around for a swim.

There was continental breakfast but we slept through it because the bed was comfy-especially for the price!

I think this place may be under new management since the previous reviews because the couple (man when we checked in, wife when we checked out) were chatty, professional and the place was clean and tidy outside and in.

They do have a couple smoking rooms if you are a smoker but our room smelled smoke-free.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, quiet and easy access from the freeway and the pool.
  • Disliked — They don't have king beds.
