I actually would rate this a 4.5! We exchanged our timeshare through RCI and got this resort in the middle of winter. The hot tub is steaming hot in the middle of winter! We are located north of San Francisco and yes it's about an hour or more from the city. I don't know what time the other reviewer tried to check in but the standard 3:00 p.m. check in time is usually honored. It is a great launching pad for all the beautiful wineries in Sonoma and if you are adventurous and love driving through beautiful California scenery I would suggest day trips to Bodega Bay and into Napa Valley. The staff were extremely friendly, energetic and helpful. A youthful and enthusiastic group of guys and gals. The rooms were clean and well stocked. I'm sure if you ask for extra pillows or blankets they would provide it. Upon arrival we were given a toiletry kit as well. The California king size bed in the master bedroom was comfortable and there is a Murphy bed in the living room so with the couch you can sleep 5 in the one bedroom unit. The couch is just ok and the dining room table only seats 4 with an island that seats 2. The T.V.'s are not flat screen and are on the smaller side but we are not here to watch T.V. There is a nice bicycle/walking path around the back of the resort that takes you alongside the creek, the golf course and through the residential neighborhoods of Windsor. It would make a very nice bike ride into town. The place is clean and the best units are on the third level. Quiet and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and they even provide little seasoning packets with basics. I always bring my own seasonings and pantry items from home to save money. This works well since we always drive and not fly. I am coming back in September and will stay in a two bedroom. I can't wait to share this amazing vacation spot with friends and/or family!

Do not leave any valuables in your room. I made the dumb mistake of leaving my laptop in the room and it was stolen. This happened on Christmas Day so it was hard to get adequate help from hotel staff.

Other annoyances were that we drove an hour and a half from San Francisco in order to check in and get ready for a dinner and the room wasn't ready on time. It wasn't going to be ready till two hours later and they suggested we could change for our dinner in the lobby bathroom. We would have appreciated a call to let us know the room would not be ready instead we wasted time driving there.

There wasn't a comforter/bed spread in the room. Just one blanket and it was freezing. How the staff forgets to leave a comforter on the bed is beyond me. We were also informed they were out of pillows although my partner needs an extra pillow to prop up a hurt foot while she sleeps.

Above all the worst part was getting my computer stolen. It was a sad thing to happen on Christmas.

This is the 2nd time I've stayed here, both for Bachelorette Girls' Weekend events. This past weeked, 8 of us stayed comfortably in a "deluxe" 3BR/3BA. The room was great, well-stocked (although we could have used a few extra pillows and blankets). The amenities at the resort (clubhouse, pool, hot tub, etc.) were nice. Our only complaint was that the TV was very small for such a large room. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We traded out time share through Interval International for this hotel. We were on vacation visiting family who lives in Windsor. Everything was topnotch at this resort. Although there is no housekeeping, you were allowed to exchange towels at anytime. Beds were really comfortable! Rooms were spacious, plenty of kitchen ware, should you want to cook. Rooms were clean, clean, clean!
They are located conveniently off 101, in the heart of wine country!
