“OK - but Noisey”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Stayed one night at this location in early Dec, 2011. I typically stay at the very nice (& more expensive) nearby Holiday Inn Express, but they were sold out.
The room was clean & pleasant, about what one would expect from a 2 star motel.
The continental breakfast was rather weak.
The problem was the noise at night - this place is right next door to what might be described as a 18 wheeler truck "rest stop"...I really don't know what these trucks were doing there, but they came fairly frequently at what seemed all hours of the night.

Within a few minutes of arriving at my room, a truck came by and noisily parked about what seemed like 50-100 feet away from my room. I called the manager, and asked if this was a regular occurrence, but I didn't really understand his answer. I really should have been more assertive, and pressed him about the situation - but to my regret I didn't. (Since it's not within their property lines, there's really not much that he could do - BUT, I had explained to him previously upon making the reservation, and upon checking in, that I was looking for a relatively quiet room. And I did not receive one!
Well in the future, there are better places to stay - lesson learned here.

“Good for a short stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

We were traveling through Oregon and California and stayed here for a night on our way to SF. The rooms are comfortable, clean and fairly large.

Breakfast is included, but there's no room to eat it, so you have to bring it back to the room. The room featured a little table with two chairs, so that wasn't really a problem.

Apparently there was a pool, but it was closed. This was a little odd, considering it was almost a 100 degrees out.

There were a couple of good food options in the neighbourhood for both breakfast and dinner (Black Bear Diner, Denny's, Round Table Pizza).

Overall good value and would recommend it.

“Good price, good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2011

We stayed here in route from Oregon to Yosemite and were pleased with the price and the value. This is not luxury of course but a good quality spacious room in a convenient location near I-5. The breakfast was quite adequate but you do have to carrt it to your room. We did have a problem with the electronic door lock and the first room we were given was not made up by the maid for reasons unknown to the front desk. Lots of parking and services near by.

“Good stop-over in Northern CA off I-5”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2011

Winter birding in Northern California is terrific in Sacramento Wildlife Refuges along I-5. Stop-over in Willows is a good place to stay. Motel is clean, quiet & comfortable., Staff pleasant. Breakfast is standard fare: cereal, juice and toast. Coffeemaker in room. Rates are reasonable. This motel is next to a Super 8 that was having a "manager's special". I asked for the Super 8 price and got it.

“Upgraded towels and pillows!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2010

I've stayed here a number of times in the last few years. Price is reasonable. The staff is always friendly and efficient, rooms are clean. This year, the towels are new...thicker than before. The pillows are also new and very comfortable. Now I don't have to bring my own! This place is also right next to Starbuck's. This is my favorite place to stay when I come for the races!
