I recommend the Holiday Inn as a good overnight along I-5. The little crossroads of Westley sure feels a lot safer than the towns along 99 (Modesto, Fresno, etc.). I called when we were about 90 minutes south of the hotel and, yes, they held a room for us without going through a distant reservations office or getting a credit card number from us. Very nice.
The breakfast the next morning was available even before the stated opening time, a very nice feature for us and many others there trying to get on the road to beat the terrible weather.
So, even though we were there barely 10 hours, yes, I'd recommend the Holiday Inn as a good value.

I made reservations while driving and did not have to hassle with a credit card number. "We'll have a room for you!". Nice staff, room, solid Internet, free breakfast in the morning. Can't go wrong there. We arrived in the night and wanted a good place to eat and dreaded all the fast food places around the hotel. At the staff's suggestion, we tried the Westley Hotel about 5 miles away. It looked scarey at night but we have learned it is a well kept secret with a nice dining room, excellent food, extensive menu and wine list and a great find. We are delighted to find a great place to stay with excellent dining nearby.

This hotel gets an A for effort. When I checked in there were apples and complimentary newspapers in the lobby and cookies and coffees on the way to the elevator. The hotel is fairly new and the rooms are nice. The only negative about my stay was there was a chip in the toilet seat in Room 212 and at first, I thought it was dirty which of course grossed me out, but then realized it was a chip. Other than missing chip on the toilet seat, the room was quite nice. It is a very nice hotel to stay at on I-5.

I travel alone with my teenage daughters. We really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was great, very pleasant, made you feel very comfortable. The rooms where a nice size. Very comfortable and clean. The room had all the amenities you could need. (fridge, microwave, hair dryer (teenagers) The hot tub was very nice to relax in. We felt very safe. The breakfast in the morning was great. We really enjoyed our stay.
