“AMAZING!”

I stayed in this hotel from the 19th November - 23rd November 2011 and I cannot fault the hotel or the staff! A few weeks prior to my arrival I had read a review that somebody had complained about bed bugs. While I was there, they had sniffer dogs come in. They made everybody aware of this and it did not cause any problems. It was great to see they following up on the complaints made.

The staff here were beyond helpful. I would never consider staying anywhere else and I have a few friends wanting to go to L.A this year and I have told them to not even bother looking anywhere else! Perfect location - we walked to Hollywood Boulevard from here, although it was slightly far, plus plenty to do around!

I miss the Grafton :)

“Hip Chic Hotel... but staff was a bit rude and snobby”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Chic cool hotel on Sunset Blvd in WeHo. Nice rooms very hip with cool decor. Rooms are a little noisy (thin walls). We had a room with a view of the pool which was really cool. Asked multiple times for a Sunset Strip VIP pass and FINALLY got one on the day before our departure. Staff was cordial but not overly accomodating or helpful with what you would expect from a trendy nice West Hollywood hotel. Drinks in the hotel bar were highly priced as one would expect for Sunset Strip and Hollywood. Overall an "OK" experience.

“Avoid this place or expect disappointment.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Staid night of 1/25 on a Hotwire deal. We were very disappointed with the decor of the lobby and room (women's breasts, and a woman's upper leg). This place was not worth the 3.5 stars. Room was dirty (spots/stains on the comforter) that we found the next AM. We made management aware but nothing was done. We were highly disappointed with everything but the location.

“Good Value for money - comfortable and cosy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I stayed in a double room (one of the cheap rooms) back in July 2010.

The decor of the room was extremely whacky and kind of tacky but I actually really enjoyed it. It was something completely different from your standard 5 or 4 star hotel experience where sometimes no matter how many hotels you stay at, they all feel the same. This one definitely does not! The beds are comfortable, all the usual amenities and again, just a very nice cosey hotel room.

I found the staff to be very friendly, and the cleaners also very polite and often saying "Hola" to me (I'm actually Maori from NZ but they thought I was Mexican which I found very cute!).

The pool area is small but the pool is a fair size and I enjoyed a few hours in there one of of the days of my stay. I also enjoyed a burger at the restaurant which was alright too.

Location - if you want to be amongst the West Hollywood Gay Scene, this place is great. You can walk down to Santa Monica Boulevard easily to save you catching a cab or having to be a sober driver. About 10 mins is the walk. Also very close to the main strip of Hollywood etc, and there are free shuttles that take you to and from if you want which is great. So if you don't intend on hiring a car and you want the night life etc, this is it!

Only one problem is that they only have Valet parking which costs a fair bit, and you have to line up to get your car back which can be a pain when you are in a rush. Then you have to do the whole 'tip' thing everytime you want to get your car out etc. A bit annoying but only a minor issue.

Otherwise - great stay. if you can get this hotel at an affordable price it won't disappoint. You will be disappointed if you are expecting your usual 4 or 5 star hotel experience, its probably bordering 4 star but its not what you would call luxurious, more like trendy comfortable.

Room Tip: I only had the cheapest room so there was no view - so if you want a room with a view, pay more and...

“Disappointed by lack of communication”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I've stayed at this hotel a number of times for business and so when I had the opportunity to join by husband on a work trip, I recommended this hotel because if the convenient location, bar and great restaurant. Upon check in, we were notified that both the bar and restaurant are closed...information that is not noted on the website or communicated to us over the phone when we booked. Ive worked in the hospitality industry for over 6 years, and this is critical information that any hotel should have communicated to potential guests. Highly dissatisfied and if we were here for more days, would have rebooked to the Kimpton hotel or Roosevelt Hotel. Both hotels were offering rooms at comparable rates and are of significantly higher quality.

When I visited in early 2011, the hotel was a funky, well-kept boutique property. Now, it is run-down and in need of severe TLC. Sad to say that this is our last time staying here.

Plus side....valet workers are very helpful and kind!
