We stay at Hampton Inns frequently when we travel, and they have never let us down. Always a great place to stay.

General Summary: It was fine...and importantly consistent with other brand stays. Nothing exceptional, outside of check-in goof.:)

Check-in:Overall friendly and easy, BUT, we were given a key to an assigned room, so that guest was not to pleased when we tried opening his room. Front desk clerk just tried to re-issue the card the first time, so we had to go down not once, but twice...and it was on the 2nd attempt that the guest awoke. Awkward. It was 1am. After that, front desk realized my room was re-assigned in the middle of the day. Whoops.

F&B: Breakfast offerings were marginal, continental, but think there were some eggs and bacon (like the microwave kind) and a waffle maker (yah!). I think they are now offering a nicer oatmeal set-up now too. Free, so no complaints.

Property Amenities: Can't comment...just an overnight.

Location: Not sure...it was near the highway off-ramp and close to other hotels.

Rooms: Standard Hampton Inn style- clean, comfortable, nice TV and spacious.

Areas to be improved: Check-in; breakfast is nothing to get excited about, but it's complimentary so a great value.

Recommendation(?): Looked like one of the better choices in Visalia and true to brand promise. Reliable and value-for-the money!

On our way to So. Calif., we stopped in Visalia, Calif. to visit relatives. Since we have stayed in Hampton Inns in the past, we felt very comfortable booking a reservation for their property in Visalia. Hampton Inns have always been a great value to us. Wonderful, spacious room, well appointed and comfortable. However, what we were most impressed with is the service offered by the front desk personnel. They greeted us with as smile as we entered the lobby and everything having to do with the check in proces was fast and efficient. We weren't in our room for maybe 15 minutes when we received a call from the young lady who checked us in making we were happy with our room. Nice touch. Also a nice touch was a hand written note from the manager welcoming us. We are in their rewards program and this good way to keep us in! Finally, about two hours later another phone check to see if all was well . Hard to beat that kind of service

We stayed at this hotel for a night and explored the Sequio national park. Overall the hotel is pretty good. We were given the wrong hotel room keys. Probably the front desk person was tired from christmas shopping :)

The hotel is about 45 minutes away from Sequio national park (south entrance). To get from the south entrance to the the General Sherman tree is about another 45 minutes of winding, mountainous roads.

The hotel is quite comfortable, clean and well maintained. The breakfast is pretty good. The one thing that threw me off was a sign posted in the breakfast area and something about use of some chemicals that are known to the state of CA for causing cancer! Other than this, the hotel is well located the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges. Would love to head back to the Sequio national park which is beyond words and stunning!!
