“Remodeling needed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

We called ahead to inquire on shuttle services to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, the receptionist told us hotel provided this service. It was one of the deal breaker for us. Upon arrival on 17 Dec 2011, we found out no services avail, and we had to pay our way to the park and the $15 parking fee. With the total prices including parking fee, $98 for four persons, it was much more expensive than other hotels in the area but offer little savings or incentives. We would not book hotel if shuttle wasn't provided. An unclean hotel with old carpet, unfashionabled door locks, and outdated accessories.

“On our way to the Raider Game!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

we traveled in from Oregon and we stoped at this comfort inn. we thought it would be okay since we stay at choice all the time. the parking lot has poor lighting, but located by great places to eat. the hotel inside the lobby was nice the other parts of the hotel needs some paint, the room was just okay and quiet. we will try a different choice hotel before we choose this one:(

“Will NOT be back.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

We haven't had any issues with Choice Hotels in the past. Decent place on an economical budget with basic free breakfast.
We had made reservations to stay for 4 nights however we checked in and couldn't wait to check out!
1. The place smelled of uncirculated air and curry/cumin.
2. The lobby appeared nice, but once we checked into our room on the 1st floor the room was severely outdated from the filthy phone to the questionable carpet, bathroom and bedspreads. The TV channels wouldn't even come in clear!
I told my children to keep their shoes on and they ended up staying the night elsewhere with family. We were pretty much afraid to take our shoes off.
After a sleepless night in my streetclothes I checked out the breakfast and there weren't the typical Choice breakfast eggs - scrambled or boiled. in its stead was Tofu cubes. and not even a basic variety of cereal? We threw our stuff in our car and checked out right away. I am surprised this place is even connected to Choice Hotels. I felt like we were at some Trucker inn.

“Worst breakfast ever, horrible service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2011

Let me start off by saying, I travel a lot for work and have stayed at dozens of different hotels across the county. This hotel has horrible service and probably the worst continental breakfast I have seen. When my coworker and I arrived, the man at the desk continued to talk on his cell phone for probably another 5 minutes after we walked up. He didn't even acknowledge us or say he would be right with us, just kept talking. The next day I go down for breakfast, now don't get me wrong, I don't expect much from a continental breakfast, but this was ridiculous. There were probably 5 mini muffins, a few types of cereals, some nasty looking fruit, a waffle maker, some coffee, and an empty pitcher of orange juice. I managed to attempt a meal out of the meager supplies and went off to work. When I returned to my hotel, my key card wouldn't work so I had to go back downstairs (there is no elevator) carrying all my supplies from work and ask the man to reactivate my key card. He did so without even offering up a "Sorry about that" or anything that would indicate he was the least bit interested in my being inconvenienced. Also, the doors on the rooms are not sealed properly so there was quite a bit of light and noise coming in through the door at night. To give you an idea of how much I dislike this hotel, I have been traveling quite a bit for the past year and a half and this is the first time I have felt the need to write a review for one of the hotels. I would recommend finding another hotel.

“Ick!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2011

I knew and was prepared for a two star hotel as per the reviews of other Tripadvisor reviews, but this hotel is not, in my opinion, a two star hotel. I'll just detail what my family and I encounterd.

I think the most horrendous part of the stay was the fact that sewage gases were lofting up through the sink! We had to keep the plunger down and the sink filled with water in order to not smell it. The entire hotel stunk ( the sewage smell, moldy, musty...?) We ventured to the pool (only due to BEGGING children), in which I could see was dirty on the bottom. After a few minutes, I looked down to see big globs of hair wrapped around my wrist - eeewww! We couldn't take the kids into the pool restroom. It was gross. Did I mention that the spa wasn't working? Of course, that wasn't mentioned when I booked the room. There were no umbrellas around the pool. We went back to the room and about two hours later my husband set down to put his shoes on and his feet were, just shy of black, brownish/grey to be exact. Again, ick! The two men at the counter (owners??) could have cared less. We left there and went to the Best Western. It was closer to Six Flags and they shuttle you over and back. Very nice rooms, clean and very friendly!

Room Tip: Stay @ Best W.-Great $-CLEAN-They shuttle to park
