I screwed up our reservations for our annual Thanksgiving trip to Vacaville and had rebook at the last minute. There's never anything good left (although why Vacaville aka "Cow Town" is a destination spot is far beyond my ability to reason) so we were stuff with Super 8.
The good - It was cheap. They got our reservation right and it was mostly clean. There was an elevator. They offered free wireless internet. There was a safe in the room. It was cheap.
The bad - the bathtub was stained and the plug didn't work so I had to keep filling the tub. The bathroom was tiny. The halls were dark and dingy. I had to search to find an electric plug to charge my cellphone. The beds were hard (but we find that's almost always true in hotels). Lots of traffic noise. The alarm clock was set (not by us) for 6am. Thanks. We needed more towels (they provided 3 when we reserved the room for 4 people). They couldn't bring them up so we had to go down to get them. DId I mention they were postage stamp sized? The receptionist sat behind a thick wall of plexiglass. Very inviting. "Continental breakfast" was a choice of two different kinds of muffins (in plastic wrap), coffee, black tea, or two juice-like liquids. There was no blow drier (okay, I know that's getting picky, but since I'm being critical). The comforter had holes in it. There were no extra pillows or blankets.
So, bottom line? I wouldn't stay there again. The Best Western down the street was also an... interesting experience, but at least it made for good stories later. This place was just depressing.
