Staying overnight in Turlock for a weekend soccer tournament, my wife and son found that sleep was easy and comfortable. The room was nice, the night was quiet and there was reportedly some type of fun, Rube Goldberg style automated pancake making device in the breakfast room that kept the adults fascinated.

The following day, during a gap between games, we needed a place to do work and schoolwork. The breakfast room was a very productive environment for doing this. Also, when the vending machines sold out of water, the front desk person, without prompting, produce mini-bottles of water from behind the desk. Really thoughtful.

The hotel is located in a larger and very new looking development that has just about everything in terms of restaurants, eateries, a Safeway. Very convenient, comfortable and overall good experience. (We used Crowne Plaza points from prior travels and the online booking process for using the points was very smooth.)

I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express on Oct 12 while on a business trip. I had stayed here last year and had a few issues but decided to try them again. My stay was 100% better than last time. When I checked in I asked the desk clerk if the fly problem they had last time was addressed (there were tons of flies in the breakfast room last trip) he said it had been. The room was nice, very clean and the TV selection was great! My only real "complaint" was the pillows are way too thin and not supportive and the soap and shampoo provided wasn't great, it was what you may find in a cheap economy hotel. The breakfast room was clean and fly free! Food was about what you would expect but good. Overall, I would say give this place a shot if you happen to be staying in Turlock for a night or two.

I was here alone on a business trip. Had never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express but found it very pleasant.
The rooms are not spacious but for a party of one or two it was adequate. The in-room coffee was convenient to use (although in the bathroom). The products were nicely displayed.
Not totally charmed with the showerhead but had hot water and good pressure. How picky can I be?
The breakfast buffet was nice. Had the standards. Has a pancake machine rather than waffle which was a nice change. Scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, yogurt and cereals. Good Coffee!
All in all it was a good 3 nights.

Our family headed off for a one-week whirlwind tour of college campuses. We knew which campuses our son wanted to see, but made no reservations ahead of time because we wanted flexibility.
The first campus on the list was in Turlock. We had several lodging choices but liked the looks of the Holiday Inn Express. The lobby was clean and inviting and the reception staff was pleasant and welcoming.
Our room felt pretty luxurious for the price. Actually, the beds and pillows felt better than those we had at home! The bath products were really nice too. Breakfast was self-serve but offered eggs, bacon, baked goods, cereals, juice - a pretty decent spread for "continental breakfast!"
At checkout, it occurred to us that some hotel chains offer membership perks, and since our stay had been quite acceptable, we signed up. For the duration of our trip up to Portland and back we looked for Holiday Inn Expresses, and found each one to be just as nice as the first. Some locations also provided us with beverages and snacks on check-in too.
I still haven't figured out whether we'll qualify for a free night in the future or anything, but we were quite pleased with the quality for the price of the Holiday Inn Express.
