We had low expectations going to the Hampton Inn. We just wanted a place to crash for a few nights. Unfortunaley, our experiance did not even live up to these expectations. After checking in with a surly front desk clerk we viewed our room and needed to change rooms. Going back to the same clerk Rick he looked at us and said "You've already been helped" before turning away. After finally getting service and a new room we settled in. We were woken up in the middle of the night by what we thought was a jet engine, but was only the air conditioner turning on. We had to turn it off and swelter because the noise was unbearable.

In summary, don't expect to be comfortable or welcomed at this hotel.

Clean. Quiet. Convenient. Great Beds. Nice Breakfast. Friendly service.

The hotel is very beautiful and the staff was just great. Had a complimentary breakfast every morning. Would definitly go back if in the area.

I can't remember the last time I've stayed in a Hampton Inn, if ever since I generally stay in the Marriott family of hotels when I travel on business. We were upgraded to a suite which was more like a larger hotel room, but included seperate kitchen area with small fridge, microwave and sink. Rooms were up to date and very clean. Internet access was free as was breakfast which was simple yet good. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is far enough from I-80 that it is very quiet (we were on 1st floor near parking lot and didn't hear anything). Would definitely recommend this property for those staying in Truckee area.
