“Beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

What a beautiful place. Conveniently near the village but away from the noise of the village. Wonderful apartments though a little pricey. Some of the service staff were wonderful - in particular Ronnie. Others could learn a thing or two from Ronnie. Overall would highly recommend it. We'll be back for sure.

“Great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Stayed during a summer weekend. What a beautiful resort! Accomodations are new and lovely. Room service for breakfast, accommodating and tastey. Our whole group took the gondola up the mountain for great hiking, while the teens road mountain bikes down. The village offers rollerskating and trampoline-fun! We barbequed at common-area grills and ate back at our condo unit.
Looking forward to returning in winter when you can ski right up to the condo, vallet your skis, and jump into the hot tub! Nice!

“Another Great Winter Break at the Northstar Lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We are just winding up another great 2 week stay at the Northstar Lodge. We had beautiful weather and great ski conditions for most of the trip - Vail Resorts invested heavily in snow making equipment this year and it really paid off for those who weren't scared away by the weather reports.

We have been coming to Northstar for over 5 years. We have stayed at large new homes and older condos in the Northstar area, at many of the newer condos in the Village and have spent time with friends in the new homes near the Ritz Carlton.

The Hyatt has become our home base when at Northstar though. We love the mix of luxury accommodations, great service and convenience that only the Hyatt provides. The rooms are beautiful, there are chairs and a fireplace on the balcony, the beds are the most comfortable beds in the village, they have a great flexible living/dining room setup and beautifully integrated kitchens. The Sierra Room on the 1st level has lots of great hang-out space with couches, fireplaces, a TV, dining/game tables, a light breakfast buffet on the weekends, a ski equipment room, an outdoor fire pit and a gorgeous view of the valley and village. The Tahoe Mountain Club pool, jacuzzi, game room and workout facility is next door. The Highlands Gondola at one end of the Hyatt takes you up to the Ritz Carlton and the top of the Big Easy lift.

The Hyatt is a great base for anyone who wants quick access to skiing, wants to be close to the action in the village without being on top of it, wants daily cleaning or has lots of kids and friends to keep happy and coordinate.

The service at the Hyatt is superb - Joey and Meagan heard that my 6 year old lost her 2nd tooth on a chair lift and that I needed a $1 coin and a color printed letter from the Tooth Fairy. They called all the businesses in the village and had several coins for me to choose from within 2 hours. Joey even called me to remind me! They are keeping the extra coins on hand for the next Tooth Fairy visit to the Northstar Lodge...

“Incredible suites”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

Hyatt NS had GREAT suites for just a couple or for families. It was the off season so NS area was quite dead. But the resort itself was nice. Hot tubs were kind of gross. There were NorthStar Resort hot tubs and a workout center they shared with the Hyatt that were much better. Nice little porches with fire places. Don't come here looking for a view - it's a small parking lot and the NS village, but it's not ugly. Very friendly staff, comfy beds. We probably wouldn't stay again, for the sake of trying things new, but it's worth it. AWESOME private movie theather. A little drive from the Lake and Truckee, but not too bad. The only bad thing was there were no corner stores or grocery within 10-15 minutes. There's not even a vending machine - so prepared to bring some snacks. The rooms have great kitchens. Great TVs, furniture comfortability is suspect.
