This is your basic hotel nothing much to brag about other than I paid a good price online for it. There isn't a pool but the beach is really close by and that is why we stayed here. Sleeping was not comfortable because the air conditioner really didn't work and what air came out went straight into the curtains so the room was stuffy. The parking was good no problems there. The desk clerk when we checked in failled to tell us there was breakfast available until I read it online after we stayed however he was really friendly.
My biggest complaint is that the evening clerk on the weekend was a young gentleman and he was rude when I was checking out not only that I had to tell him to take his hands out of his mouth while he was speaking because I could not understand him. This young man seemed to be bothered that I had to check out of the room and get my 50.00 incidental fee's back! This location really is good for shopping and the beach so I will come back or recommend as the price is really good for a night stay. I will check the ac before commiting to a room in the future.

I was in Torrance to visit friends for a week. I preferred to stay on my own. The hotel is definitely two star. Understand what that means - no pool - no restaurant. But, if you can live without a pool, there are plenty of decent restaurants nearby - many you can walk to.

If you are not familiar with the area, it is about a 10-15 minute drive to the closest freeway. Once there you can get most anywhere in the LA area. It is about a half hour drive from LAX airport - a little further to the Long Beach airport.

Check in was a breeze. The room was very clean. It was plenty big. It has a refrigerator. They have free internet wifi. The router is in the office, so the closer your room is to the office, the better your connection. I was on the 3rd floor near the office and had a very decent connection the whole time. If having wifi is important to you, I recommend you tell them that when you check in. They also need to give you the secure login information. If you can't get a good connection from your room, you'll need to use the connection while in the lobby.

Breakfast room was adequate. Food was fine. They had fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, juice, milk, coffee, waffles you make yourself, etc. You'll save a few bucks there.

All in all, I'd go back without hesitation.

We booked this with expedia and only 3 of our 5 rooms were booked luckily I had documents from expedia showing payment,was sorted out by frontdesk with no hassle.Rooms were clean,no ground level rooms slow old lift.Rooms need modernising rust been painted over etc.Breakfast was lovely apart from unfriendly attendent and huge loud TV.No laundry but one very close walk.Huge mall across road.No need to walk road way can go through Carpark opposite,next to Boarder Books.We stayed here pre San Pedro cruise and had no trouble getting there next morning.Would stay here again.

My wife and I spent nine nights at Howard Johnson on Torrance Blvd. while we visited our son and his family. The price is really amazing when you consider all that you get for it, including a nice breakfast and free internet. The staff was very welcoming and pleasant to us throughout our stay. The young woman who managed the breakfast room was especially pleasant. Lots of free parking. Our room included one king sized bed, and the room was big enough that it could have held another king size as well. Lots of hot water in the shower and efficient housekeeping. We had a small fridge which worked perfectly. Although we would have liked to have somewhat more comfortable pillows, we accepted those as part of the reason for the low price. Near the intersection of two busy streets, but the room was very quiet. We feel that we really hit a sweet spot in the quality-price market. There's no pool, but it was December after all. This place has out highest recommendation.
