I stayed in this hotel on three occasions and in three different rooms. The hotel is in great location. It is located in second row from the beach and it is very close to the restaurants and bars in the pleasant community of Sunset beach.
The building is older and it is getting a bit worn out, especially the common areas. All rooms I stayed in were generally quite clean. The beds had good mattresses and good clean linen and towels. The bathrooms were good and always clean as well. Each room had balcony, small kitchenette, cable TV..… However, I was not too thrilled with the shower head as it spays low quantity of water under quite high pressure (a bit odd – but not a deal breaker). Also carpet in some of the rooms can be replaced and/or cleaned as well. I have never seen any “bugs” in any of the room I stayed in. You should ask to see several rooms as some are quite better than the others. The management and cleaning staff I found was always very nice and helpful. The best rooms are those facing the ocean. Some on the top floor even have peek-a-boo views of the ocean (…. do not expect “ocean view”). The rooms facing highway are noisier but surprisingly less noisy than we had expected to be and were OK. There is a free and decent Wi-Fi. Coin operated washer and dryer is located in laundry room on the parking level. There is plenty of free parking under and around the hotel.
This hotel is definitely not something special but it is one of the best values in this neighborhood, especially with the weekly rate. You get what you pay for and this is one of the cheapest hotels in Sunset Beach.
Bottom line: It is good for the money and the location.
