“If you like to get robbed, stay there: DRUG TRAFFICKING LOCATION!!!”

My worst hotel experience ever - and I have been traveling across the planet business wise for 37 years- was in the infamous Pacific Inn Hotel of Sunnyvale. Extremely rude front office, not helpful at all. My brand new apple laptop got stolen out of my locked luggage there. However, the hotel manager assumed it was my friend - staying in another room - who must have done it, since I gave him the key to my room to fetch my luggage. No apologies, no compassion whatsoever! I really don't care too much if the place is totally worn out - and this hotel is totally worn out, as long as the bed is OK.
The local police told me there was always something bad going on in that hotel. Lots of false keys around, lots of drug dealers and traffic. It is conveniently located near the Sunnyvale station, but that is really the only advantage. So unless you like a real nasty experience, don't stay there.

“Don't let the price fool you, as you are better off paying more for better quality & accommodations!”

I never had a bad experience at any of the previous hotels I chose to stay in, until I arrived at this DUMP! After I first checked in, the card that was used to open the door did not work, as I needed to have the card rescanned several times, which also happened on the following day. The first room I was assigned to didn't even have a bathroom, so I had to pay an extra $50.00 to upgrade for 2 nights! I thought all hotel rooms at least had a bathroom, as this was more like a college dorm room. The second room I received had a cracked mirror, which was not safe, and the lights above the sink did not work. The TV in my 3rd room did not receive all the channels, the following day. They had a computer in the lobby, but it was not working on my 2nd night, and there was not even a note beside it to indicate this, as the monitor was off. The heater/fan had no knobs in my 3rd room, and there were not enough blankets provided on the bed, to keep anyone warm. There were no light bulbs above the bed in my 3rd room, which I did not notice until after checking in, but I was told this was the last room available, and I just wanted to get settled in and prepare for an early day, the next morning. I didn't experience any of these problems, with my previous hotel rooms, and I even don't do much traveling. The parking lot at this hotel was too small, and spaces were not available until early in the morning or later in the evening, because it was more like public parking for customers at the other businesses around it. There is a reason why a hotel will charge $35.00 per night, which was still more than anyone should have to pay, to stay in such squalor. I ended up having to pay $60.00 per night after upgrading to a room with shower and toilet, but I paid less for a much nicer room before, which at least had a kitchen. Steer clear of this place, as this hotel might be closer to where you need to be, but if this one appears on your search for convenient or affordable accomodations, seek the other options above and/or below it, in order to save yourself a lot of grief!

“I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone!”

I reserved this hotel because I was visiting a friend in California and it was close to her house. It was cheap and the photos I saw looked ok. When I went to check in, it was about 8pm or so. The woman behind the counter was watching TV and seemed annoyed that I wanted to check in. She looked at me and simply said "Yes?" I should have turned around and left at that point, but I had a reservation and would have been charged whether I stayed there or not. I get my room key/card and proceeded to my room. When I opened it, I was SHOCKED. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, yet there were burns all in the carpet. There was a hole in the carpet as well. There was hair on the towels in the bathroom and in the blanket on the bed. There was dried coffee on the tables and holes in the wall with exposed wires. It was rather cold there and I went to turn on the heat only to discover that the unit in the room only had a cold air and fan function. No heat at all. The area where the mini fridge and microwave were was dirty.

The next morning, I took my bags and went to my friends house. I should have slept there like she asked me to instead of booking this dirty, nasty hotel with their unfriendly staff. When I came back with my bags on the final night (I decided to ride it out so I could easily check out when it was time to catch my plane back home), the man behind the counter looked at me, but said nothing. Then when I finally checked out, the man behind the counter looked at me, then turned around to continue watching TV. He was so unfriendly that it was ridiculous! NEVER AGAIN will I stay here and I do not recommend this place to anyone! This place needs to be shut down and fixed up. While they are at it, get some friendlier employees!

“Dirty and charge me for something I didn't ask for”

Read the fine print shared bathrooom and room was dirty. They upgraded me to king suite and well the first room didn't have working ligh bulbs and the second one with the jacuzzi didn't have a working jacuzzi. The shower head also was dirty and did not work properly. Very disapointed and there was never any hotel staff around also , when I got home the guy told me he was gonna give me a discount on the upgrade, chargin me 15 dollars extra each night for the 3 nights I was staying. When I got home, I saw that they charge me for 60 and accidentally charge my credit card of 122.00 on another credit card, wtf. This place is pathatic, if you are going to spend more money use it on a comfort inn or something.

“Absolutely NASTY”

Wow... I've booked a ton of rooms through hotwire and I've never been disappointed... until now. Though it's the first time I took a chance on a 2 star, and was ready for Motel 6 type of lodge - let me tell you - if The Pacific Inn is a 2-star, any Motel 6 is a 4-star. The room was so small, they had to use Murphy Beds... yup! Had to pull the one small double bed out from the wall. When we did, well the mattress was about as thick as a thermarest and the sheets/pillows seemed like they'd been washed months ago. There were stains everywhere - dust everywhere. It is essentially a tenement house converted. Not to mention the location... crackheads were screaming and singing in the parking lot. UNBELIEVABLE!! We didn't stay - we took the hit and went down the road to the Quality Inn.

NEVER EVER EVER stay here... no matter what your budget. Hostel it, camp, couch surf... but steer clear of the Pacific Inn.

icky!!

  • Liked — That it was close enough to another hotel for us to be able to back out of staying here
  • Disliked — Dirty, smelly, tiny.... YUCK!!!!!
