My husband took me away for a weekend to celebrate , relax and just get away. We had never been to a bed and breakfast and he found the Inn on Summerhill and booked our stay for 2 nights. It's a really cute inn with friendly front desk staff. Our room was really charming and had a very comfortable bed! The decor reminded me of a country cottage, it was cozy. We had breakfast in bed one of the mornings, it was decent. Fruit, scones, coffee, juice, and a nice quiche. Afternoon snacks and evening desserts are also a great treat we enjoyed.
Now the downsides...we got in late Friday night and there were a few random spiders and dirt in the bath tub. Must not have been cleaned prior to our arrival. Once it was clean, a jacuzzi tub in the room was great though. They skipped our room for turn-down service for some reason so we returned to our room after dinner and didn't have towels, water, soap, etc replenished and that was a letdown. Then we sat down to have a cup of tea - each room has a teapot, mugs, and a hot water filter....and found the mugs were dusty and the teapot had stale, used, wet teabags in it. The room was rather warm and so we either had to deal with a loud wall unit AC or the open balcony door. The freeway noise really is loud with the balcony open, which is a shame since the view is so beautiful. It wasn't so bad saturday night though and we used the ceiling fan for some air circulation.
Overall, it's a lovely inn, the food is good, we had a great weekend and the staff was friendly. I probably wouldn't recommend this place if somebody is looking for a quiet hideaway, but it was nice.
