I check in on Sunday...internet is down. Being the kind, patient person I am, I manage...by going to the Starbuck's and paying to use their wifi. No worries... I am sure it will be fixed by Monday, and when I return from my meeting at 5PM...no internet. When I ask about it, 'oh, it has been down all weekend'. The internet is down all over our hotel. We have tech services working on it... it will be just a bit longer.
5 hours later I am moving to another hotel...
Business travel is about working. What part of this does Marriott NOT get? This was undoubtedly one of the worse travel experiences of my life...until they moved me to the Residence Inn, and there was still no internet, and the room had fleas.
Trust me... no comped room in the world makes up for flea bites and an inability to work.
Did I mention that when I was checking out of the Courtyard, so were two other business travellers? One remarked to me that this was his third time at the Courtyard in 6 months, and that each time he had been there the internet was down.

We always appreciate the feedback of our guest as it provides us an opportunity to improve on our products and services. Please accept my deepest apologies for the challenges that you encountered during your stay with us. Your frustrations are completely understandable and I would agree that had I been in your situation, I would have reacted in a similar way.
Having recently taken over this hotel, I wanted to both acknowledge the issues that you described and inform you that your visit came at the beginning stages of the hotel’s renovation period. Although this does not justify the internet outage, I am hoping that you will recognize that the property has made great strides in improving our product, amenities and service.
Since your visit to Stockton, our hotel has undergone the Refreshing Business renovation which was a comprehensive redesign of the lobby and common areas. We have made significant improvements to our internet which has enabled it to be more easily accessible while tripling our previous capacity. Also, an upgrade has been made to our business center computers, we’ve provided a convenient terminal to print boarding passes and have fully introduced the Goboard which provides up to the minute News, Weather and airport information. Lastly, another great addition was our new bistro which provides a full breakfast and dinner menu.
Although I cannot alter your experiences from the past, my hope is that you will allow us another opportunity to prove that the Stockton Courtyard is the best option when traveling on business.
