“Nice room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Upon check-in, the receptionist behind the desk was not very cordial. She did not provide any information about the hotel or breakfast times - other than telling me where our room was located. She appeared to be distracted.

The room was very nice and large with a king sized bed and very comfortable. It was very well appointed and very clean.

The interior bathroom did not have a working exhaust vent.

The "Bright Side" breakfast was disappointing - the waffles were the type you put in the toaster and I did not see hot cereal.

This facility has all outside doors, thus, from our first floor room we heard all cars coming into the property. Our room also faced the freeway, so the freeway traffic noise was noticeable.

I would say for the price this facility was a good value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back, so you are away from the freeway noise.

“Quite fine for a road trip stop with pets. NICE staff!”

Mostly I agree with DanFam3. I don't really think the room was beautiful but it was spacious and clean. The carpet had seen better days and the bathroom was dated but very functional. We were traveling with lots of stuff to go south for a few months and concerned about not having things stolen from 2 vehicles. First I called the LQ 800 number and asked about safety there. The person called the hotel directly and reported that they had security in the parking lot and no problems. I asked how much the pet fee was and she said no fee!
When we arrived we again asked about theft problems and the receptionist said no problems but we could park right up front under the covered drive-through and they would watch our vehicles in additon to the security. So all was safe and good. The hotel looked fairly full but the room was quiet and we slept well. There are restaurants adjacent to the parking lot: Old Spaghetti Factory and Carrows so that was super convenient. In the morning the breakfast is scheduled to begin at 6am so we assumed we would miss it because we wanted an early start. But the staff began setting it up at 5:30 so we were able to eat. Pretty standard/basic for a hotel but still very nice to be able to eat something before we left. The hotel is right of I -5 so it is easy access on and off the highway. i would definitely stay there again if in the area, especially if traveling with a pet. Also the rate was really good and when I called the 800 number she was able to give me a rate within a dollar or 2 of the best internet rate. Then I had until 6pm to cancel if needed--which you can't do if you book with some of the internet sites.
Don't expect this hotel to be romantic or super special--it's not. But if all you need is a safe, quiet relatively inexpensive place to sleep, this is a really good option, in my opinion.

Room Tip: Staff at Spaghetti Factory were friendly and it is essentially in the same parking lot.

“Beautiful rooms, excellent location, great breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

I have to say, this hotel was a complete surprise. We booked online, sight unseen, based on price (which was excellent). Honestly, we were on a long road trip, and I didn't really care WHAT I saw at the end of the day, but the room was beautiful, clean and functional.

I really appreciated the spaciousness and layout of the restroom. It was an almost private room where the mirror and sink were located, and since we were traveling with a cat (the hotel is pet friendly), it was really nice to be able to put the litter box away from the sleeping areas.

The continental breakfast the next morning was on par with what you would expect a hotel to offer.

All in all -- very satisfied.

“Decent Value for a One-Night Pet-Friendly Stopover”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

We've had good luck with the La Quinta chain before so tried la Quinta Stockton for a one-night stay while on the road. We probably should have realized this was a motor hotel beforehand but didn't, so were a bit disappointed when we arrived. Easy access from the highway, plentiful restaurant choices in the area and free accommodation for our 2 medium-sized dogs were pluses. The room was dated but clean with minimal amenities. The HD TV was a bonus. We left too early for breakfast. Good value overall although I don't know we'd want to stay a second night.

“Easy Freeway Stopover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

The room was good. Simple and clean.

Lobby was decorated nicely.

Nothing special, the beds were really small. Cleanliness was fine.

But for the money and the free breakfast (which was good) I have added this to my list of easy, reliable stops. A/C worked well; we didn't note any problems.

Also, I appreciated that the staff accommadated our request to be on the 2nd floor, facing away from the freeway, and in a quiet location.

Room Tip: If you're willing to take the stairs go up as high as you can, face away from the freeway, and a...
