“Minimal”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Maybe the hotel is what we deserved for the price. What we paid was somewhat more than last year, but still less than other hotels in San Francisco area. The CitiGarden is okay if you do not expect too much. That being said, the bed was not itchy and the TV has many cable channels.
Minimal 'continental' breakfast was okay. The hotel has a shuttle to airport every half an hour. We didn't have any problem with the staff. Maybe we were lucky.

“Hotel ok park and fly the worst”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Our trip started bad because our GPS got us lost. The front desk was very nice and helped us get back to the hotel though. The hotel was older but for the price we weren't expecting much. It was very clean but, the door didn't seem very secure. I was glad I was there with my husband or I may not have felt very safe. The accomodations were dated but clean. Our biggest issue was not the hotel but the park n fly package that we booked. It took an hour for the hotel shuttle to pick us up. We called the hotel 3 times and each time they said they called the driver and he should be there in less than 10 minutes. It was freezing (about 40 degrees) and we had our 2 year old son with us. Once the shuttle arrived the driver was not helpful at all. He just looked at us to put our bags in the back of the van. I am not sure if he was upset because we kept calling but because of this bad experience we would never stay here again no matter what the savings.

Room Tip: No elevator so if you don't want to take your bags upstairs then book a bottom floor room.

“Shame on you United....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Mom always said, "if you can't say anything nice....don't say anything at all ", but feel the need to warn other travelers.

We were sent here by United after our flight from Kona to SFO was delayed due to a mechanical. My husband and I are both frequent fliers (1M+) and paid full, refundable fare for our tickets.

In the past, when we have experienced mechanicals, United provided accommodations that were clean and comfortable. This trip was not the case.

The room was disgusting, The heat didn't work, the sheets were a dingy gray/wrinkled and appeared to not have been changed from the previous occupant(s), the door didn't close properly.... Could go on and on... but you get the drift.

If United sends you here, ask for other accomodations or spend the money to stay somewhere else... this was not good.

“Bad bad business practices and dirty hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

This place is a dump and should be condemned. Also beware....We purchased their package for one night and left our car while we traveled. They also offered us the option to reserve a room so we did because we anticipated a possible flight delay. Upon arriving back to the hotel they charged us for another night even though we didn't stay another night. They said policy was that you had to call ahead to cancel. Why would I cancel if I didn't know whether my flight was going to be delayed! Plus they said it was an option. I tried to reason with the front desk but was unsuccessful.

Room Tip: Avoid this place!

“Good budget choice, convenient for airport travel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

I've stayed here a few times, and never had a problem, and would consider staying here again. However, it's a place I stay only if I need to be close to the airport or Candlestick Park, not the city.

Rooms are simple, small, but kind of hit and miss. This time my room was updated and clean. Last time I stayed here the room was dated, but still clean. (I laugh when people say a room is dirty because they found a bottle cap under the bed) Quiet, sometimes you hear plane noise, but that's because it's very close to the airport. (I didn't notice any noise on this visit) They have free breakfast, it's basic, but it's free. Price for the room is good too, and especially reasonable if you need to use the park and fly option. They also have a free airport shuttle.

So if you are looking for a decent place that is close to the airport, and want to save some money, this is a good budget option.
