Boy, this is a first. We arrived at this hotel at 1:00 pm on the August 21 The person at the front desk typed in 1:00 am, so they charged us an extra night. Then, they claimed that we extended our stay an extra night. The person at the front desk said, "no problem, I can fix that". So, we stayed for our nights of the 21st and 22nd.
We were guest speakers at the conference nearby and the sponsors of this conference paid for one of the nights. We were billed for the second night, which came off of our credit card. When I received my credit card statement, I noticed that there was another charge from the Holiday Inn for an additional two nights! After a heated, and lengthy argument with the management, they agreed to refund the two nights, as the sales department figured out what went wrong. Unfortunately, the night manager, who was in disagreement decided to only refund only one night (this is now October). The night manager told us he would refund the two nights. So, I checked my account, and we only have one night credited! He lied to us.
What's ironic is that I was the chairman of the organization who contracted the room blocks. I was responsible for giving the contract to this hotel! This is the first time I've ever been disrespected by a hotel, and as a national board of director of my association, you will bet that I will recommend that no one in our industry ever uses this hotel. I have never been so wronged in my life.
