“Good for an overnight stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Shuttle from the airport twice an hour but as the shuttle is shared with 2 other hotels the bus can get very crowded.

First impression of the hotel was that it is sandwiched between 2 highways so I inwardly groaned and thought it would be noisy. However we heard more of the heating/air conditioner overnight than we did the traffic!

Lobby small but inviting. Greeted in a very friendly manner and soon checked in. Our room on the second floor was very tired but nonetheless very comfortable. Beds & pillows excellent. Everything worked.

The hotel was only 2 miles from the San Francisco Airport Car Rental facility which was a bonus.

Staff very friendly.

The update to the property should be completed in the next few months. Then the hotel will place pictures of their rooms on their website.

Breakfast was very good. Cooked to order.

I would certainly consider staying here again for an overnight stop.

“Expensive, loud, blah”

The room has this constant buzzing sound. In addition, it's not sound proofed from the outside and transmits all traffic noise in. I doubt I'll get a good night sleep. To top it all off, my room stinks. It doesn't deserve the Starwood name.

“not very accessible, otherwise a winner.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We reserved an accessibility room. My first shock was that when you arrive and park in the handicapped space right in front, there is a flight of stairs to enter the lobby. AFTER you enter, you see that there is a cheesy platform lift. After checking in, the friendly gentleman at the desk helped me get my bag out of the car and brought it in for me, and took me to the room. At no point did he mention that I could park around the building in a parking garage next to an elevator!
The room was clean and spacious, but not spacious enough to maneuver a wheelchair or wide walker. The walker caught on the corners of the short walls, closet, and would not go over the inch and a half tall saddle into the bathroom.
Once you got into the bathroom, which was very large, you were not much better off. The sink is crammed against one wall, and toilet up against another, not allowing for chair or walker space. The tub is NOT a zero entry shower, and there is no shower/tub chair. For this reason, It was risky to use it as I cannot get myself easily in and out of a standard tub. If you are traveling with a companion, it might work.
The room was very clean and very comfortable, quiet despite overlooking the freeway. The staff were exceptionally friendly (I love Northern California!) and the gentleman at the desk when I checked out helpfully told me that "next time" I should park underneath.
The restaurant on site had excellent food and impeccable staff. The prices were shockingly reasonable.
This hotel is very close to the airport car rental building, and fairly close to the airport, with easy access to 280 and 101. I would stay here again, but only with a companion to assist me.

“OK, convenient for short stays”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Stayed here one night while on short business trip to San Francisco.
Convenient shuttle from the airport which arrives and departs twice an hour, promptly on time
They also a towncar ($45 charge) for a ride into downtown which I used and arrived on time.
Breakfast in the morning (NOT complimentary) is OK - nothing fancy.
Wireless in the room was weak and I had to ask for an internet cable for a Webex presentation I had to make while at the room.
No frills - very utilitarian hotel.
Business center comprises a computer and printer in the lobby.

“Not worthy of the Starwood name”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed here twice,on our way in and out of SFO to visit family for Christmas, and can't recommend it. If you just need a bed for the night and every other place within 50 miles is full, then this is your hotel. I was mostly disappointed, though. They do have a free shuttle to the airport that they share with 3-4 other properties (take that into account when deciding what time you need to leave the hotel, it's not a nonstop trip) and they do let you park there (for a price that's less than the airport itself charges) when not registered as a guest. The staff was fantastic, they definitely lived up to the Starwood name, but that's where the good news ends. The room was horrible. Think motel six for a marriot price. threadbare undersized towels, a buckboard for a bed (nowhere in the same universe as sweet sleeper or heavenly beds), old, loud, and barely functional AC unit, small room with cheap carpet and furniture at the end of a loooong narrow hallway (you couldn't get a larger piece of luggage past a housekeeping cart) . I felt like calling an exterminator (didn't see any pests, it just had that aura). The hotel restaraunt was barely mediocre. The pizza was large and tasty for the price, but both the chicken alfredo and the chicken marsala were the worst we'd ever had.

One last note...the entryway is ridiculously inconvenient. Irregularly shaped steps up into the lobby make luggage and strollers a hassle. The "solution" provided is one of those wheelchair lift things...

I sincerely hope this place isn't representative of the four points brand...if it is, Starwood needs to stop sullying its name by offering roach motel rooms at a holiday inn price.
