“Clean,comfortable and quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Had a great night's sleep on comfortable mattress with lightweight down comforter and assortment of soft and firm pillows. Help was courteous, pleasant and efficient. Bike and walking trAils right outside hotel, is a real plus. Location is on the bay with lovely views and close to airport. Breakfast is an extra charge at courtyards by marriott. Only drawback, commuter trains pass by quite often.

“Hotel is getting tired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

I have stayed here multiple times in the past. As a Platinum Elite member I did ask for a 1st floor room this time because I was traveling with a lot of luggage. The room was tired. The closet doors were broken and unable to be opened. I do not believe this hotel has been updated to reflect the new brand. It is comfortable for a 1 night airport stay but I would not use it for anything else. The prior visit, my room smelled like a chimney. Service was middle of the road too.

“Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay...........”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

Overall very impressed! Waterfront property but no "big deal" just a nice ambiance. Rooms were well appointed, clean and bug-free (a plus in Bay area). Beds were comfy. Well situated for San Fran via 101, very close to Genentech/baybiobiz - easy to get to Airport (good Shuttle service) - easy access to freeway. BART runs alongside....try to get rooms on bayside of the property.
Pool/Gym were clean if not spacious and the front desk staff helpful and generally unflappable.
Parking easy, and no charge. Wired internet worked great, the wireless was poor....the restaurant was definitely so-so and snacks and beverages at front desk embarrassingly overpriced.
In short - it's a COURTYARD - as examples of the brand go, this qualifies as one of the better examples lately! My ultimate recommendation - I hope to stay there again on my next trip to S.San Fran! If they can earn my repeat business, chances are they'll earn yours too.
Having said all the above.....Priceline rates apply. DON'T pay rack rate or you may be less than happy, capiche!

Room Tip: away from BART tracks

“Useful place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

I found this hotel useful - it was nicely located, close to SFO airport and also close to the highway. I found the service in the hotel good - they were able to sort me out quickly and were helpful when I asked for advice. I certainly didn't find it any better or worse than comparable Marriott or Hiltons...

Room Tip: Overlooking the bay is nice - but I didn't manage that...

“Good Reviews on this Courtyard - Impossible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011
5
people found this review helpful

I don't know where to start, nor do I know where the people who gave this hotel good reviews stayed; must be the hotel shown on Marriott's website because the actual hotel bears no resemblance to Marriott's web photos. Worn is one thing - this was downright dirty. We are Silver Elite Reward members and own two Marriott timeshares; so I wouldn't give Marriott negative reviews lightly.

The thing everyone always says is "you know what you are getting with Marriott". Not so with this location. We arrived in SF late after a very long flight and were leaving for NY early the next morning. We were taken by Marriott shuttle to the Courtyard - the lobby, front desk, and carpet were absolutely filthy. We were given keys to two rooms. I never saw the other couple's room but they walked in and out of their room saying it was filthy and that the sheets on the bed were threadbare. Our room was dirty. Both couples met in the lobby, went back to the front desk and were given an upgrade immediately. My husband and I took the new key, left our luggage downstairs and proceeded to the third floor to check our room. When we opened the door to the room, a swarm of flies flew in our face. I've never checked trip advisor when booking a Marriott airport location, but while i was writing this I did see all the negative reviews plus a review of bed bugs at the hotel, which I can completely understand.

We immediately went back to the front desk, where I telephoned Marriott Customer Service (which was closed), and was transferred to Reservations. I explained what had happened. The rep was wonderful, immediately called the Marriott SF Airport, booked two rooms for us and arranged to have us taken to the Marriott SFO. She told us the rate was not that the same as Courtyard (higher), but a Customer Service Representative would adjust it the next day. This didn't happen, and both couples were charged the higher rate.

We were completely disappointed in Marriott's handling of this problem; and in the property, which clearly was not up to what we have come to expect as Marriott standards.

Room Tip: Don't stay here unless it is completely remodeled
