Booked a room during a snowstorm in Chicago on the chance I might make it to San Francisco that evening. Was told by Hilton that the 24 hour cancellation policy would be waived if I could not make it out due to weather. I did not make it out and was still charged a cancellation fee. The general manager B.J. would not make any waiver though his personnel did not assist in the booking and the room was canceled less than one hour after it was booked.

Quite disappointed in service and will personally not stay at the hotel until it is under new management.

Came in for an interview, needed something quiet and clean. Clean, comfortable room in a relatively older hotel. Completely functional, not too fancy but quiet. Delicious breakfast included in the morning with good coffee and absolutely perfect (not greasy at all) omelettes! Service is incredible - front desk was courteous and helpful, cleaning staff were all friendly and smiling and those working at the buffet were working incredibly hard to keep the area clean and supplied with fresh, hot food at all times (I sat in the lobby/dining area for 3 hours and it was like they were on roller skates!). Would have given it 5 stars but my bed was a little lumpy (I think simply because its older), aside from this minor complaint it was a wonderful stay.Would definitely recommend if you need a comfortable place to stay. There's a shuttle to downtown SF on Fri/Sat, but not other days. This is fine - I just took the shuttle to the airport and took the BART to downtown, easy.

Basic Hampton Inn, good clean rooms as you expect from Hampton. No problems at front desk. This hotel in in the airport area and not much around it as expected. None of the restaurants that you think of being in San Francisco in this area.

After staying at the Embassy Suites next door the day before and Thanksgiving Day without having access to heat in the room (see my December review) we cancelled our ES reservations for Dec 20-21 and booked with the Hampton. We reserved the king one bedroom suite, which is similar to the Embassy Suites layout...the living room has a sofa sleeper and the bedroom (which is smaller than at the Embassy Suites). What was nice was that the bathroom is between the living room and the bedroom. At the ES, the person in the living room has to walk into the bedroom to use the bathroom.
Best of all, both the living room and bedroom have individual A/C-heater units and thankfully the heaters worked just fine.
The Hampton has only 99 rooms vs. over 300 next door at the ES. The Hampton does not allow pets (a big plus for us) unlike the ES. The Hampton does not charge for parking unlike the ES next door. Breakfast is served until 10:00 AM unlike the ES, which serves only until 9AM during the week. There is a manager's reception from 5-7 which serves wine and beer and some snacks. There is a small gift shop and also a workout room. There is no pool or formal restaurant.bar.
We enjoyed our stay and will stay there again...note there are only four king befroom suites (one on each of the four floors), but there are other room choices as well.
Please know that both hotels are in sort of an industrial park area, and there are no restaurant/shops within walking distance.
