“Sonoma's best value for a pleasant stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012 via mobile

This is a wonderful inn with many amenities not expected in this class. The attention to detail is apparent throughout the property. From the beautiful and carefully manicured grounds to the rooms of both vintage and nouveau styles, there is an obvious focus on guests and their needs. The furniture is real and the decor is pleasing. The linens are outstanding and the beds extremely comfortable, even for those with "bad backs". I am puzzled by the few negative references to the furniture. It is relatively new. I would say get a clue about wine country ambiance and style. The staff is friendly and helpful. Although the breakfast is continental, everything is fresh and the coffee quite good. There are subtle touches of whimsey for those that notice such things. The pool has a large shallow end and a deep end making it enticing to young and old alike. And, where else do you find a sign that says "please be quiet after 10 PM" instead of "closed"? The rooms are also very quiet for the most part as they are set back from the highway and enveloped by plants and a large fountain. We have stayed here several times, with and without children, and are always wishing we could add days to our stay. Oh, and it's the best value in Sonoma!

I remember what this place used to look like, yikes! Now it's beautiful,
and surprisingly quiet for being smack dab in the middle of Hwy. 12. The rooms are clean and spacious

“El Pueblo Inn Sonoma California”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We had a stay recently at an older but recently renovated inn in Sonoma and really liked everything. They have a wonderful continental breakfast. The front desk staff is very helpful and it is only a few blocks from the central square. You can even rent bicycles on the property. It is very economical considering the area and they did not require a multiple night reservation on a three day weekend. The gardens are very attractive and there is a pool and hot tub.

“Great for couple and family with 2 young kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We -- a senior couple (Room 132) -- stayed one night in the El Pueblo Inn, along with our daughter's family of four -- a couple with a 2 and 5 year-old (The suite, room 235). This was January 29, 2012. We all enjoyed it very much. The rooms were very clean, with coffee pots and dorm refrigerators. The suite had a trundle bed in the living area, and its bedroom had a microwave in addition to the other appliances.

Our single room, a "Sonoma King" was a large corner room very close to the fountain so we could enjoy the sound, with a gas fireplace and small patio. The bathroom had been updated with tile and a nice shower curtain. Our bed was comfortable, although the furniture was somewhat outdated but still clean. There was no traffic noise for these rooms and since it was in January, the hotel was not crowded, with very little noise from other patrons. The breakfast was very good for a continental breakfast - several different types of pastries which were pretty fresh, including decent croissants, about 5 types of cereal, yogurt, about 5 types of fruit, etc. One nice touch was large complimentary bars of the local olive oil soap at the reception desk.

We enjoyed the beautiful courtyard garden, and some of us took advantage of the hot tub. We would stay there again and my husband thought it a good deal. It is about less than a mile from the central City Hall Plaza, and did not seem too far from anything.

Room Tip: If the weather will be in the 50's like in January, having a patio room is not particularly usef...

“Wonderful experience!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

This property was perfect for our January stay in Sonoma! Clean, large room, comfortable bed and one of the better breakfasts we've had. Desk staff helpful with menus, dining suggestions, even borrowed a corkscrew! Our stay was extended due to snow at home (sweet home, Chicago!) and we certainly enjoyed that extra day of sunshine! A "thank you" postcard arrived soon after we returned home, nice touch! We would certainly stay here again, hopefully in the not too distant future!
