This is the second time we stayed at this property, it is charming to a certain extent, but it really is just very dated in many respects. The bathroom was small, and old and worn, not charming, the rug and furniture in the room were old and worn. The TV was from 1957, it was about 17 inches and a really old TV. The hotel staff, however, is excellent, and the small resturant is also very good, but very limited. We really were surprised at the amount of noise on the street, as our room was street side, but it seemed that the traffic never stopped, and the windows were not exactly soundproof. The location of the hotel is also excellent, as you can walk to shops resturants etc.

We were treated to wonderful music from a young pianist in the evening . It was heavenly! We dined each night in the 4 diamond restaurant. The food is the best you will get anywhere in the world! We are very fussy, from NY and have traveled extensively and these were outstanding dinners!
The Europeon breakfasts were always a delight as well. First class. The king bed was wonderfully comfortable. Room service was fast and pleasant. It was a lovely stay.

This hotel is excellent. Very charming and romantic. Excellent gourmet dinners are available at the hotel. Breakfast is included and the pastries are the best I have ever tasted. There is an old world charm to this hotel. The furnishings in the rooms are beautiful and luxurious. It is a very peaceful place to get away. The staff is excellent also.

We had a wonderful experience at the Petersen Village Inn from the moment we checked in. Adam Petersen was so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. We checked in early and didn't expect our rooms to be ready. Adam showed us some rooms that were available straight away and he gave us the pick of them. The rooms were comfortable and a decent size. The beds had lots of pillows, ideal for those of us who can't make up our minds if we want a firm one, a soft one, or one in between.

Four of us spent two nights at the Inn and we had dinner in the restaurant on the first night. The food is excellent and the service is great. I recommend anyone staying here should take the dinner package, especially if you enjoy French food.

The hotel is right in the center of town. Great restaurants and tasting rooms are only a couple of minutes from the front door.

One of our rooms overlooked the courtyard and the other one overlooked the main street. There was a little street noise early in the evening and it may be an issue at night for those who are very light sleepers. It didn't bother my wife or me at all. If a courtyard room is available, it may be best to grab it.

When we go back to stay at Solvang, we won't hesitate to stay at the Petersen Inn again. It well and truly deserves a five star rating.
