Let's start off by saying not a great place at all...when we got to our room, there was a toilet plunger right outside our door, there were dirty towels still hanging on the back of the bathroom door and a coffee cup lid siting on the table. The bed were clean as far as we could tell and the carpet was in pretty good shape. Other than those two things, not much else nice I can say about the place.

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are a nice size, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom area was larger than I expected. There was some mold in the bathroom but that is to be expected in an ocean town where there is a lot of moisture. The room was clean and the heater/air conditioner worked very well. The hot tub was great!! Nice and hot. Breakfast was good, loved the waffles...plus they had coffee, juice, cereal, muffins, and pastries. I would go back there again.

If you're going to the Monterey Peninsula, this is a great choice the location, comfort, amenities and an excellent breakfast to start the day.

Me and My partner went to the Gilroy Garlic Fest, so after the Garlic Fest we decided to go to Monterey and spend the night, everything was sold out, with in 15 miles, so we drove anround we find this hotel Howard Johnson, first the price of the rooms was $223.00 per night, I said what your kidding right, the room we got was in a very bad shape, the AC was like tractor running, the bed had bugs, and it smelled so bad that it was the worst experinace i had, the hotel was owned by an indian, and i tried to talk her and she was just a pain, so what i did was i said, i want to cancel the room and get my money back she was not having it, so i called my card company and have them stop payment on it, On Monday i called the health dept to do something due there was bugs and bad oder...they said they will look into it...
