Me and my mother stayed here on a recent trip to Sonoma and Napa. I would highly advise people to avoid this place at all costs. Now I understand that Extended Stay is minimalistic and we didn't expect a ton from it. But we did request a room with comfort bedding and expected all the things promised in the room to be in proper working order.
First of all: The beds are like sleeping on cement. I kid you not. If you like feeling like you're sleeping on bricks, by all means. But I did not get a good nights sleep at this place, even when they finally did give us the mattress topper we paid for. Believe me- it didn't help.
Second off: the walls are like paper. Our neighbours were clearly LIVING here as they offer monthly rates (some of the people outside looked like vagrants...), and they played loud music most of the night. The people above us were stomping on the floor all night, I swear it sounded like jumping jacks. For $85 a night, I expect a comfortable bed and some quiet. I found neither at this place.
Third: The customer service at this place is awful. It took them 2 hours to get us a new toaster since the one in our room was inoperable. Sure the new one worked, but it sparked something awful. Oh, and btw, if you want anything, even toilet paper, you have to visit the front desk to get it. They will not send anything to your room. Our television remote did not work at all and we had to re-program it (and even then it didn't work for more than 15 minutes). No, the hotel will not send someone down to fix it for you. There was absolutely no hair dryer provided and our toilet hardly flushed. When we arrived, there were no blankets on our bed and that "comfort bedding?" A thin blanket stretched over the top of the mattress. That was eventually righted, but as I said before, it didn't make the beds any better.
Fourth: There is internet here, wireless, for a fee of $5.00 a week. BUT. It's debatable if it will work every day. It worked fine for one day. But after that? We hardly had a signal and demanded our money back.'
Last but not least: to shut our door, you had to slam it multiple times because it stuck terribly. That just kind of annoyed me, not really a deal breaker, but I figured I'd throw it in any ways.
The one and only thing I will give this hotel is that the floors were NOT sticky. But that's it.
To be honest, for $10 or $20 more, you can stay at the Best Western Garden Inn nearby, which at least has the backing of a reputable company behind it. Seriously, don't stay here. I will never ever consider an Extended Stayamerica again.
I would like to note: We spoke with hotel management and our problems were NOT solved. If we hadn't booked through a third party, I assure you we would have left 2 minutes after arriving.
