“WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

This place has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I’ve stayed in many hotels, nationally and internationally, and this has been my worst experience. I booked my room months in advance, planning to attend my cousin’s wedding nearby. My sister and her family had booked a room in the same hotel so that we could all be together. The day before I was to arrive to the hotel, the manager called me in the late afternoon to tell me that they had to kick me out of my room and move me to a completely different, crappy hotel 5 miles away and in a very shady neighborhood! They said they would pay for the first night, but it didn't matter to me because it was a huge inconvenience and the hotel they put us in was horrible!

The manager lied and said there was damage to some rooms and several people were being moved. After talking to her a bit more, I realized that there was no damage to the rooms at all, but that they had overbooked! When I confronted her about the reason for having to move me, she said “It doesn’t matter because the result is the same.” This infuriated me. Damage due to causes not within the control of the hotel is much different than overbooking, which is completely within the control of the hotel. Clearly, it didn’t matter that I booked months in advance. To make things worse, the manager’s attitude was horrible. She didn’t seem to care that I was upset and when I said I would write a review about this experience on the internet, she responded very condescendingly, “I’m sure you will…”

I was also told by the receptionist several times that the manager would call me back with the reservation number for the other hotel, but she never did! I had to follow up several times. I will NEVER book a room at another Extended Stay again.

“Don't waste your money!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

This was one of our worst experiences with a hotel. Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights in May to attend a wedding. On Wed., the week of the wedding was informed some guests were being moved to another location because some present guests needed to extend their stay.......what a nightmare that was.......don't waste your money with this place!! It was dirty and smelly...

“Do yourself a favor, do not stay at this establishment”

My wife and I booked a room with a king bed three months in advance of our arrival date. One week before our arrival we received a call saying that the hotel was overbooked and they could only provide us a room with a queen bed. We explained that we were both very tall and that we had booked far in advance to insure getting a king bed. The lady we spoke with said that they were over booked and she expressed no desire to address the issue; her attitude was "take it or leave it". We had to take it because a popular triathlon event was being held in the area and all other hotels were booked.. The room we got not only didn't have the king bed we reserved but it lacked even the most basic essentials: dish soap, paper towels, bathroom tissues, etc. Bottom line, this place is not a desirable place to stay and you can't count on them to honor their reservations.

“A Dump that at least allows dogs”

I found myself needing a place for 1 night. With my 2 dogs. That was worth a star to me. A search on the web found listed this "hotel", one that I had driven by many times. Hence, a second star for its convenient location.

Then, the reality of the place set in...it was an Extended Stay place that was actually a small studio apartment-like room, with very few of the amenities one would need to be comfortable (no paper towels, no diswashing liquid), tiny bathroom towels...starting to get the picture? The front desk told me upon check-in that there was 1 trolley for the entire place for guests to use to get there luggage in. "But, um, I don't know where it is right now..." was the front desk reply. Just an example of not enough anything, with no one there from the hotel to care about it.

Additionally, there were very intoxicated people in the hallways at all hours of the day and night, leading me to wonder if it was a vouchered County Shelter place for the homeless??
I didn't even ask, as I left early as possible the next day.

Room Tip: First floor is best/avoid the slow and smelly lift

“Convenient location, horrible service”

I had booked a room at this Extended Stay more than a month in advance for a half marathon event in Windsor for 'One King Bed and sleeper sofa.' When my husband, brother-in-law, and me arrived we found all they had available to us was a King bed with no other options for additional room because the hotel was overbooked. The manager was not on site but was reachable by phone for the one front desk staff (the manager refused to speak to us on the phone). At first they said 'no rollaways available,' and then after much ado they agreed to put a rollaway in the room. When we returned later that evening there was no rollaway to be found (story about the elevator was broken...). Out of luck I happened to see one in the hallway on another floor and dragged it to the room (incredibly disgusting bed too). Long story short I spoke with the manager after the overnight stay and she said she had put a gift certificate in the mail for a free overnight. I told her the issue was that we should have been accommodated with at least a discount for the night we were there and the room we requested be taken off their inventory when people book online (only one in their inventory according to manager). She said she would get back to me after she spoke with her Regional Manager. Now it's been two weeks and no reply and no gift certificate. Really amazingly bad service -we wanted an inexpensive place to lay our heads and it turned into a serious ordeal. So just a heads up to future bookings to call the hotel and make sure they have the exact room type you need.
