I am a discerning 4/5 star traveler and this hotel did not disappoint. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the hotel elegant and comfortable, and the location excellent. You will not be disappointed.Ocean view rooms on the higher floors get the better views. The hotel have a courtesy car for local drop off and pick ups, very handy. Also complimentary coffee and tea in the foyer for those up at ungodly hours of the morning to catch flights - little touches which make the stay so pleasant.

We recently spent the weekend at this beautiful resort for family get together. The Ocean-View Suites in the Palasades Tower had great views and plenty of room for the family to gather. The other rooms in the Ocean Tower were nicely appointed and the balcony views were amazing. The fig tree in front of the hotel is amazing...T

The Staff are very attentive and extremely accommodating, the atmosphere was elegant, and the Resort was walking distance to everything you want in Santa Monica. Upon checkout, my mother had left behind her coat. The resort made all accomodations to ensure that her coat was returned to her home. We'll be returning to the Fairmont again soon...

From the front desk to the spa to the housekeepers the staff could not have been nicer. We booked under Amex platinum and were given a double upgrade to a lovely bungalow. The breakfast was excellent, served in our room. The spa credit was well worth it. I highly recommend Shelly Luna if you go for a massage. We previously stayed at Shutters but preferred the Fairmont overall.

Returned here for two nights in January 2012 (Stayed January 2011). Welcoming and relaxed, great location, quiet but short walk to front, shops etc. Breakfast superb, great service but relaxed ambience. Eat one night in restaurant with group of four - all enjoyed the food.
Annual business trip- will return.
