We booked a single night at this hotel after reading positive reviews on TripAdvisor. We wanted a hotel near Santa Monica Pier, and the location of the hotel really is great. We arrived three or four hours early, but the friendly staff gave us early check in with no hassle. We then dropped off our bags, and went out.

It was only when we got back to the hotel in the late evening that we noticed just how noisy our room was. We had a room on the second floor, facing Colorado Avenue, and the noise from the street was just unbelievable. There was a bus stop literally just outside our window, and the room had absolutely nothing in the way of sound proofing. Granted, we did not ask to be moved to a different room, as we are both heavy sleepers, but I am shocked that a hotel in this prize range would offer such a room to anyone.

I would recommend the hotel for its location and convenience, but I would make double sure I got a room with better acoustic properties than the one we had on our visit.

Stayed one night in room 514 just to get away from my family. I live in santa monica -- as the father of 15 month old twin boys, I just needed some rest and checked in for 12 hours of sleep. Alone.
It was quiet enough that I slept the entire time. I had 2pm late check out and used it. Actually had a view of the beach from my room. Close to 3rd street promenade. Might be noisy on the lower floors. Would got to shutters or casa del mar if you are on a romantic holiday. Otherwise, this place is adequate --'not fancy.

I parked on 12th street to avoid the 27$ overnight charge. It was a long walk from there.

It was expensive hotel, but suspect all Santa Monica hotels near the beach are expensive. Parking was extremely expensive. The rooms were large and comfortable. Unfortunately only one elevator was working. Enjoyed nearby restaurants and beach.

A good value hotel for the $$$ spent.
The room size was excellent with a lounge, chairs, ottomans. Good reading lamps. The TV was too small for the size of the room. Bed was rather hard.
The bathroom was tiny. Needed a refurb. The coffee making facilities were in the bathroom. Didn't think that was particularly hygenic as it was very close to the toilet!
The hotel itself is superbly situated for a visit to Santa Monica Pier.
Across the road was an excellent mall with lots of shopping and restaurants.
A short walk to main shopping precinct.
Easy to drive to from LAX.
Would recommend this hotel.
