We wanted to go to the Getty Villa and decided to make it a weekend so after some research, we settled on this place and were very pleased. It's about 2.5 miles from the Santa Monica pier which was no problem for us. We walked there on the beach bike path and had a wonderful time. There are several restaurants right across the street which is very convenient. Our room was very nice, the breakfast and happy hour were both quite good, the service was delightful, and the property was very nice. The plumbing was a little loud but didn't cause us any problems. We would definitely go back again.

Am writing this review to balance out the glowing ones which lead me to book a room for two nights here. I was disappointed..........
On the plus side, my room ['deluxe'] was a good size and the bed was comfortable. However, the pipes were noisy and woke me both mornings when others used their bathrooms. In addition, due to thin walls, people talking in the room next door kept me up very late. Between these two problems, I did not sleep well.
I also found the property tired and in need of updating [carpets, furniture, etc]. The bathrooms were particularly outdated as were various aspects of the common areas. The pictures on the hotel website make the property look much more attractive than it actually is. The breakfasts were adequate and the staff reasonably pleasant.
All in all, I felt this B and B was overpriced, was disappointed with the quality of the experience and the shabbiness of the property, and will not return here on my next trip to LA.

We stayed in the Channel Road Inn for 3 nights in August 2011. From the moment we arrived the owners went out of their way to make us feel at home. The home made cookies in the room were a lovely touch and there was free coffee/tea available all day long for guests. The breakfast spread was superb and the afternoon nibbles was a real treat.
The bedrooms were immaculately cleanand the teenagers in particular lived the free wifi.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something a bit more personal than your average hotel/Inn.

Only bad thing our room didn't have a safe.
