I just switched to SPG - Starwood Preferred Guest - for the air miles. This hotel has friendly service, the room had a balcony with an ocean view, and a generous sized desk with wifi and a couple of outlets for electrical equipment. Club level has nice morning coffee and continental breakfast with sliced fruit. The room needs a face life. Seriously - a popcorn ceiling and a plastic wall thermostat for a $300 per night room?? That said, I was very pleased to get triple miles for a 3 night, combined business and recreational trip in February (the off season). I would likely stay here again as a result of the miles.
Ashleigh at the front desk was very helpful, as was the lead valet parking attendant. The pool area is quiet and pleasant.
The bed was quite comfortable, per usual at Sheratons. I'd give it 3.5 stars if that were an option. But, given the choice of 3 or 4 stars, I'll go with 4.

Entering this hotel was such a pleasure. I am used to Sheraton hotels being conservative and basic. Sheraton Delfina is none of those things. It's upscale, modern, and cozy. The lobby is dim, which gives it a mature adult feeling. The front desk staff is knowledgable and extremely polite. The pleasure continued as I entered my room. I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and it was a definite pleasure. Stepping off the elevator my assigned floor was amazing. There is new carpet and wallpaper! The bland beiges and browns were thrown out the window and replaced with blue, grey, and hints of yellow. It was a sight for sore eyes. The contemporary interior design made this room a pure delight!! Blue and gray wallpaper hugs you as your feet are embraced by new striped carpet. There are several lamps of different styles in every corner of the room. Large framed mirrors are strategically placed around the room along with PLENTY of electrical outlets.....attached to nightstands. The art on the walls reminds you that you are in Santa Monica and within walking distance to the beach. The balcony view also reminds you how close you are to the ocean! This was an absolutely delightful stay. All of the staff (housekeeping, front desk, servers, and room service) was helpful and that added an extra delight. Sheratons nationwide and internationally need to upgrade to this modern and eclectic look.

The hotel facilities are very good. The lobby area is really nice, with sofas and armchairs: you can work/use the internet there having a nice drink and the atmosphere was very good and quite.
The room was good. I stayed in the sixth floor having a great view to the ocean. The size of the room was decent.
The main issue about the hotel is that is not located in the best place of Santa Monica so you have to walk a few blocks to the main area.
Overall it is a good hotel, but little over-priced.

I travelled to Santa Monica recently to attend a conference and ended up staying at the Sheraton Delfina hotel which was about 2 km from where my conference was. Upon entering the hotel, it was quite dark, but nicely decorated and reminded me quite a bit of boutique hotels which I'd had the pleasure of staying in. The front desk staff were efficient and the rooms nicely appointed, but a bit on the small side. Having booked a 'deluxe' room, I expected the sumptuous bedding (sweet sleeper) that I had become accostomed to at the Sheraton chains in Canada. Although the bed was not uncomfortable per se, it was a standard bed that you would find in any hotel chain around the world.

I did order room service a number of times and each time the food arrived very hot and as ordered, but their room service menu is very limited and for lunch/dinner did not contain much that I was interested in eating.

All in all - not a terrible choice and I will likely stay here again if I'm in the area.
