Where do I start? I arrive to the hotel to check in. The lady gives me a disclaimer form that I have to sign before I can check in. I ask what it is before I read and she said she wasn't sure. Mind you she looked 14 years old and working on school work by herself. I asked if it was required in order to check in even know it doesn't say anything about it on the website but it clearly says no refunds. It was a rhetorical question to get her to realize how stupid the concept was. Then I started to read and it says if anything is stolen from the room or my car, or if anyone is injured then they are not liable. I repeated the info I read on the paper to her so she would know next time in case she was asked again. She then said in an argumentive way that the paper I had to sign said I was promising I would smoke in the room as if I didn't read it, at the same time pointing with her pen where it would have said that. I thought it was funny cause no where does it say anything about smoking. So I said " basically, take all my stuff with me when I leave for the day, cause if you guys steal it, it not ur fault" then I asked why they needed my address and drivers license number . She still had not answered anything so I put down the first info I can think of.( of course not my info) she took it and didn't look at it and handed me one key even know the reservation was for two adults. Whatever. Now to the room. Open sesame..."look a light switch" I said to my wife. Click...click...click. does nothing. Ok I had my wife stay outside because who know what or who's in the room. I went to to light on the wall on the side of the bed closest the the door and turned it on and proceeded to the other side where another light would be and that didn't turn on at all. O well again. We would only need the room to sleep anyway. Pretty much right away we noticed a musty stench in the room that can't be narrowed down to where it was coming from but it was managable to be in. I guarentee theses floors had never ever been steam cleaned. Maybe vacuumed once or twice but wow. Before I removed the blanket off the bed I already suggested to just buy a sheet from the store the lay on the bed so we can sleep. I've seen too many tv shows to show how clean theses beds aren't. Judging from the rest of the room, what I found under the blanket was not a suprise. Cigarette burns even know were in a non smoking room and it wasn't bad but just dirty. No major stains to the naked eye. As for the walls, it seems like they have the local elementary school take field trip for the pairing class to come in and have at it with the paint.. some corners and borders were masked with tape as you can see with the spots on the floor the outline of the tape and where they gave up on take and painted by hand in the dark. Especially in the bathroom you can see that paint had been caked on the wall and that it used to be blue and now white since they did one coat of paint with an old brush. Guess that's what they do instead of cleaning the dirt, just to paint over it. They forgot to take off the tp dispenser when they repainted or they try to cover up the rust with paint or maybe they didn't want to add more screws and nails to support it on the wall because when I pulled tp off it started to come off the wall. I think its common but there was no powered button on the tv but hey they had direct tv. At least they tried. I didn't want to find anything else wrong with the room cause the wife was this close to going downstairs and making them wish they would never open again. Pretty much in order to sleep in there was had to drink to not care how bad it was. I payed 188 for two nights. It worth 20 bucks a night. Ya there was a view of the boardwalk but there were no lights or any sort of view worth getting hyped up about. On the plus side there wasn't any noise problems at all and the room was organized and had the iron and blow dryer and remote. Ice bucket was a nice gesture so was the mini fridge that took two days to cool back up but smelt horrible. Pretty much just go elsewhere for the extra 20 bucks. oh there are 15 covered parking spots and 7 uncovered parking spots for over 30 rooms didn't add up but unless there were only 10 cars, good luck getting in and out of there.
