My wife stayed at the Ramada last month and found it to be convenient and good value. So we booked to stay there together on a few weeks later, Christmas week. This time the reception was not so courteous, perhaps the staff have changed or the manager himself was away for Christmas. The room was good and the linen/towels were changed daily, but one of my main reasons was that they claimed free wi-fi, I mainly run my business from the laptop. For some reason there are a choice of SEVEN Ramada wi-fi choices and none of them seem reliable, floating from good to 1 Mbps within seconds. This makes it is nigh impossible to get a connection to virtually any website before it skids to a stop. They do need to get a new supplier in. This is surprising for a Ramada, their connections are usually good.

Our son in Chicago tried several times to contact our room but no one at the hotel was there to put the calls through and it simply went onto a voicemail, to leave a message. Not good.

The continental breakfast was very basic and somewhat disappointing.

Hotel was within walking distance to boardwalk and downtown. Rooms were clean and rates were very reasonable. Service was excellent and very accomodating. Would stay there again.

I have stayed at the Ramada Limited on Water Street in Santa Cruz over half a dozen times since finding it about a year ago. I visit Santa Cruz about once every five or six weeks, usually for a week or more. This is the only place I stay. The prices are really good, especially during the winter and weekdays. The facility is in very good condition. It is convenient to the freeway and the alternate routes to Capitola and Soquel, my usual destinations. I'm checking in again tomorrow and looking forward to it.
