The hotel is right on El Camino Real and easily seen, right next to a traffic light. There are a bunch of nearby fast food joints and restaurants which can be walked to when the temperature is not too hot (definitely not in summer).
A big outdoor pool is about the only exercise you can get.
It is probably a motel with continental breakfast (skip the breakfast if you can, go to the nearby Denny's which could be 6-15 $ depending on what you eat). A refrigerator, microwave, LCD TV with big comfortable bed is what you get for around 60-70$ which is a great price for Santa Clara. No restaurant in the hotel so everything is outside. It is 4-5 miles from the nearest big business houses, so you defintely need a car. Cabs may take time and the traffic lights on that street could add up to a expensive trip. VTA buses run on that street (only specific times of the day) but you may need to change 2-4 buses to get to your destination (1-3 hrs depending on where you are going).

Good location, nice housekeepping staff. Front desk staff could use some lessons in compassion and how to pay attention, with the exception of Paolo. I like that there is a fridge and microwave in the room. Could use a bit of sprucing up around the edges but overall not too bad. They should deep clean the carpets more though. They are well vacumned but need to be shampooed.

I am a regular business traveler to silicon valley and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Here's why .... It's great value. The rooms are newly decorated with flat screen TVs. In my 20 or so visits the staff have never made a single mistake about my booking. It's safe, there's no danger or crime as far as I know. It's not the greatest area, but it's fine if you have a car. Lots of fast food nearby (that's probably a negative!) Easy access north and south. Breakfast is just about passable but what can you expect? The big new beds are to die for, I get an amazing night's sleep every time. free WiFi. What more can I say?

I certainly didn't see any signs of a MYRSA alert as mentioned by the Oct 2007 review of someone. In fact I thought the rooms/lobby were extremely clean. Front desk staff and housekeeping staff were very friendly. We stayed at this hotel due to the convenience factor. It was only 6 minutes away from our soccer tournament. It worked great.

The room had been remodeled but it looked like they were in a hurry with the painting. We saw drips of paint on the tiled floor in front of the sink and also down the tile wall in the shower area. This was a very minor issue. The beds were extremely comfortable. I wish I had one like this at home!

The only complaint I would have was with our room. (1) It was located right at the front of the hotel (on top of the office) and had windows facing El Camino Real. The street was noisy and our dual pane outside window did not close fully so it did not shut out all the noise. The interior units would not have this problem. (2) We had a pretty decent sized refrigerator in the room - much bigger than most hotels, but this one was the noisiest I've ever heard. We had to unplug it the first night so that we could sleep. Again a minor thing and in a different room it probably wouldn't happen. The hotel was full to capacity otherwise we probably would have asked to switch rooms.

One benefit though of our room though was that it was slightly bigger than the other rooms at the hotel. For families with kids and lots of luggage, this would be of great benefit. We loved the extra room at the foot of the bed. Almost made the extra noise worthwhile as we were not having to climb over our luggage! Someone told us that this room is usually kept until last check in so I guess we were the last people to check in. however you probably could request the room if you needed the extra floor space.

Breakfast was adequate although there was not a lot of room to eat in the lobby - very minimal tables. We ended up taking ours back to our room since our room was right over the lobby area it was very easy to do. There was a small tray with the ice bucket in the room so you could carry stuff back to your room if you wanted to.

All in all, I would stay at this hotel again as I thought it was a great price.
