“Ok for price in area for short business trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

I stayed at the Day Inn Santa Clara because my usual hotel was booked.
Negatives:
1) Motor lodge layout - all rooms open to parking lot. Not great for feeling safe. And noisy.
2) No fitness center
3) Breakfast marginal, need to bring food back to room
4) Rooms a bit old.
5) Ceilings quite thin.
Postives:
1) Rooms ok in size
2) Internet connection ok
3) Nice staff; left some clothes in my room; was able to come back 2 days later when I realized I lost them, and the staff had saved the clothes.

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd floor room in back.

“Good value for a business trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Very basic, but had all the essentials: very clean, comfy bed, flat-screen TV. The location was convenient: near the San Jose airport, on an east-west main drag that cuts all the way through Silicon Valley and sports many restaurants and practical shops, including mom-and-pop Indian and Asian restaurants and fast-food joints. The hotel staff were friendly and solicitous. Breakfast was Continental style, served in the lobby and a little patio area, and even the coffee was decent. The business center consists of a computer and printer in the lobby and it's adequate. WiFi in the room worked well. There was plenty of parking and I could always park right outside the room. Tiled bath area. If I had one wish it was that the hair dryer didn't have much power and I wish I'd packed my own. This was a budget business trip and the motel met my needs at a good price. I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: All the rooms are close to the lobby. There are 2 floors, and I preferred the ground floor. The hote...

“Ok for business trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

The hotel is fine if you're working and need somewhere to stay, but don't go there for a holiday.

It's a weird location, quite hard to find and hard to drive to if you approach from the wrong direction.

staff friendly, room fine, but rather noisy outside. Sounded like people were driving large trucks in and out of the parking lot all night, perhaps there is somewhere nearby this is really happening.

“Wonderful hotel for visiting Santa Clara!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

We stayed at the Days Inn again for four nights in August. We enjoyed our visits last year, so we were sure to return. The location is ideal for exploring San Francisco on the Cal-train, and for visiting the University of Santa Clara, San Jose, and Santa Cruz. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was very nutritious and satisfying. Best of all, though, the staff was extremely helpful, efficient, and hospitable. They made us feel completely at home.

“Excellent mattress & enough light to read by”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2011

I have stayed in hostelries where a lousy mattress ruined my sleep so the king-sized, pillowtop, firm mattress at this Days Inn made my stay. Our clean, spacious room included a couch, desk, bureau, flat-screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, plenty of mirrors, and even enough lamps with sufficient wattage to read by! Yes, the motel is by a freeway exit but rooms away from the street are quiet enough for sleeping. The drawbacks? A heater too noisy to sleep with and no heater in the bathroom. Also, the new(ish) black & silver furniture has a '70s vibe, and not in a hip retro way. But the front desk clerks are friendly and the wi-fi actually works so I give it a thumbs up and call it a bargain as well.
