This place is probably the worst hotel I've stayed in, out of dozens, in 10 or more years. Someone's 12-or-so year daughter was the only person at the front desk when I checked in with a screaming baby running around behind the desk. She couldn't figure out how to log onto the computer to even check me in. After 20 minutes her mother showed up and had to re-boot the computer. Perhaps a half hour after arriving, I finally had a room key. Not a good start.
The room smelled like a can of really nasty smelling air freshener had recently exploded. It was hard to breathe the chemical smell was so strong. My guess is there had been a smoker in the non-smoking room and they were trying to cover up the smoke smell. The rooms are worn and tired with grungy carpet, mildew growing in the bathrooms, etc. The door had obviously been opened with a crowbar and didn't latch well. The safe had also been broken into and was useless. Not a secure feeling.
Later that night the parking lot, which all the rooms open to, was full of really loud cars, booming car stereos, drunk people standing around drinking and smoking and even someone with a charcoal BBQ cooking. I've never seen a more obnoxious collection of people hanging out in a hotel parking lot--even at a Motel 6.
Room service left me without ANY bath towels--something I didn't discover until after I got out of the shower in the morning and had to use a tiny hand towel to dry off. They also left me with no shampoo and 3 bottles of conditioner.
It's on a very busy street and you can't turn left into the hotel. There are adult video/porn stores and other seedy businesses right next door. And most of the nearby restaurants are either Asian or horrible.
It's hard to believe this place is owned by Choice Hotels. It's a disgrace to their brand name and reputation. Stay away!
