Stayed at the Hilton Santa Clara Monday to Thursday, by chance, really. Had a convention to attent at the Santa Clara Convention Center, and while the other choice (Hyatt - adjacent to the convention center) was "right there", decided to stay "accross the street" at the Hilton. It was definetely the right choice. The lobby is well appointed and spacious, with places to sit and chat with your business associates, check in was very quick and easy. The rooms seem to have been renovated, they are spacious and very clean, with a nice large bathroom counter, one sink. The TV in the room is a very generous size to view your favorite program while getting ready. Donwstairs they have a coffee bar where you can pick up starbucks coffee and breakfast pastries. Thursdays seems to be the most popular day for business at this hotel.
The Convention Center is just a walk accross the street, no problem. They also offer a restaurant for breakfast that was well attended, as well as a bar right off the lobby that fills up pretty fast, with a very good bar tender in charge. The attention to detail of the staff was impecable. The service from the bar keep to the front desk to the bell hop left nothing to be desired.
Very friendly people. They also have a small inside pool, that while I did not use it, it looked to be warm and in perfect condition for a dip.
The area is all business. It will be very hard to find a gas station or a pharmacy. All around are office buildings and Great America. The best way to enjoy a good restaurant is to go to San Jose, which is very close.
Overall, loved the hotel and will stay here again.
