“Santa Barbara on a budget and still with class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Beautifully kept and spotlessly clean! The two bedroom unit was very pleasantly appointed and had a microwave and fridge which made for a great place to watch the NFL Playoff games with our family. The area around the property had convenience stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. The staff was very accommodating in allowing us to check in a couple of hours early.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs give one a great view of the mountains to the east and have no overhead noise.

“Good motel with plenrty of restaurants nearby.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We stayed here for one night on our way up Highway 1. The motel is a bit far from downtown and the wharf (we drove) but close to a lot of restaurants. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, and bed was comfortable. Bathroom and shower were in good order. Breakfast was ok- a variety of pastries (not very tasty ones though), and a few cereals, plus coffee and juice. There is a pool and sauna but I didn't use them.

No complaints about this place. We booked last minute so paid far lower than the rates previous commenters have complained about.

If I were paying full price I would give 3 stars, but for the price we paid it was excellent, so 4 stars it is.

“Clean, comfortable rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Good deal for an expensive area. Rooms have been updated and the bed was comfortable. Quite far away from the downtown area of Santa Barbara but in the centre of the community Goleta so lots of restaurants nearby. Staff very pleasant but breakfast is sparse compared to some other hotels.

“A Good Budget Motel In An Expensive Community”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

The motel is middle aged, with furniture from the 1980's. The room decor was average, but the amenities for a budget motel were above average.
The room had a comfortable bed and newly remodeled bathroom. The fresh coat of paint was salmon color. We stayed on a Monday night and the place was quiet. There was a strong smell of Eucalyptus tree in the room.
The front desk checked us in and out in less than a minute. The clerk was congenial and professional. There was a computer in the lobby to use for free.
We did not eat at the continental breakfast in the lobby because we wanted to eat a full breakfast that morning.
We paid less than $80, including tax, only about $5 more than the Motel 6 next door. The motel is on the west end of State Street, so it is necessary to drive or take a bus to get to the downtown and the other tourist sites.
We would stay at this motel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room if you have heavy luggage to haul.

“Good location, ok hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

My wife and I only stayed here one night but I think only one night is enough, it is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. It's good for a fast pass through, spend 1 or 2 nights hotel but that would be it, the hotel is nice but it lacks parking, by the time we came back to our room there was no parking spaces inside the hotel and we had to park on the street. Also the walls of our room are very thin, you could hear all the toilets being flushed from other rooms, the continental breakfast that they announce only consist of coffee and cereal, no other treats. Luckily it is close to downtown Santa Barbara where we enjoyed a good breakfast, also it is very close to the mission and the history museum. The beds are good but not great, we were tossing and turning since they were not so comfortable to our standards.
